Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD Launches in Collaboration with FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH

The Samsung 990 PRO model, designed for this collaboration, includes a slim heatsink compatible with PlayStation 5 and offers a storage capacity of 2TB. As a special bonus, the SSD comes with a limited edition storage box adorned with the main characters from "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH." The SSD maintains the standard specifications of the 990 PRO series, featuring 2GB of LPDDR4 cache memory, sequential read speeds up to 7,450MB/s, sequential write speeds up to 6,900MB/s, random read IOPS of 1.4 million, random write IOPS of 1.55 million, and a write endurance of 1,200TBW. The mean time between failures (MTBF) is rated at 1.5 million hours.

Samsung announced the release of a new PCI Express 4.0 (x4) NVMe M.2 SSD model. This model, designated as the "Samsung 990 PRO heatsink version," features a special edition storage box to commemorate the collaboration with "FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH." The device adheres to the M.2 2280 form factor, measuring 25 mm in width, 80.15 mm in depth, and 8.88 mm in height.
