The Sabrent Rocket 5 PCIe 5.0 SSD is set to make its debut at CES 2024, offering impressive read and write speeds of 14 GB/s and 12 GB/s, respectively. This high-performance SSD will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities. In terms of specifications, the 1TB Sabrent Rocket 5 boasts sequential read and write speeds of up to 13,000 MB/s and 9,500 MB/s, along with random read and write speeds of 1.3 million IOPS and 1.4 million IOPS. The 2TB and 4TB models further elevate performance with sequential read and write speeds reaching 14,000 MB/s and 12,000 MB/s, accompanied by random read and write speeds of 1.4 million IOPS.

Notably, the absence of a 14 GB/s PCIe 5.0 SSD in the market has been attributed to Micron's production delay of its 2400 MT/s NAND flash memory. Sources indicate that the slowdown in 3D NAND demand in 2023 led to a postponement in the production ramp-up of Micron's 2400 MT/s 232-layer 3D NAND. Expectations are high for the widespread release of fully-fledged PCIe 5.0 SSDs at CES 2024, promising a near-future availability of these high-speed storage solutions.
