The guys behind the popular Playstation 3 emulator “RPCS3” has just revealed that it has included support for FidelityFX Super Resolution in its most recent update, allowing users to improve the frame rate when emulating different games.

While this technology can aid in the achievement of greater frames per second at high resolutions, given that the emulation is more CPU heavy than the GPU, we do not believe it will have a significant influence at lower resolutions such as 1080p. You can, however, experiment with it on your own to see what outcomes you obtain.

RPC3 now supports 100% of the Playstation 3 catalog, and another 31% of the games have partial compatibility, which means that they may be played despite having various faults, mostly in the rendering process. Only 6 percent of games fail to start at all, though this percentage is decreasing as a result of the tireless efforts of the emulator's development team to improve the emulator.

This latest version of RPCS3 is available for download from the official website if you are interested in trying it out.
