Sony and AMD are reportedly collaborating on the development of the PlayStation 5 Pro, an advanced version of the existing console designed to support gameplay at 120 FPS with 4K resolution, utilizing artificial intelligence for upscaling. The console is expected to integrate AI enhancements for developers, with optimized performance for games that offer 40 FPS modes with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). The PlayStation 5 Pro is anticipated to bring significant improvements in graphical fidelity and performance, catering to the demands of upcoming games with advanced graphics.

Technical specifications for the PS5 Pro include a 4nm Zen 2 processor, 56 GPU cores, and 18Gbps GDDR6 memory. This represents a notable upgrade from the current PS5, with potential clock speeds reaching up to 4.4 GHz, compared to the current 3.5 GHz. The potential release of the PlayStation 5 Pro is seen as timely by industry analysts, with games like GTA 6 expected to benefit from the enhanced capabilities of the new hardware. Serkan Toto, CEO of Kantan Games, has highlighted the console's suitability for such demanding titles.  Although Sony has not officially announced the console, it is speculated to be released later this year with a price tag of approximately $500.
