In a recent live benchmarking exercise by MSI Insider Weekly, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB graphics card was put to the test.

Its performance appeared marginally inferior to the RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB variant, which might explain NVIDIA and its board partners' reluctance to distribute the 16 GB model for reviews. The performance variance between the two models was minimal, under 0.5%, with the 16 GB version trailing slightly in Cyberpunk 2077, F1 23, and Rainbow 6: Siege when run at Ultra (or equivalent) settings. However, the performance was found to be similar in Fortnite and Hogwarts Legacy, and the 16 GB model surpassed the 8 GB version in CS:GO.

The RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB model is identical in terms of specifications to the 8 GB variant, including core configuration, clock speeds, and power limitations. One potential reason for the minor performance disparity of the 16 GB model could be its increased memory density, potentially causing slightly higher latency or a minimal rise in power consumption.  The task now rests with the board partners to market and sell these cards, priced at a 25% premium over the 8 GB version.
