PlayStation recently purchased the Dutch-based company, which is best known for its work on PC versions of many Square Enix titles, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, Thief, and Legacy of Kain.

Sony CEO Jim Ryan stated in an interview that PlayStation is "glad to be in the early phases of delivering their titles on the PC, and looks forward to collaborating with Nixxes to help us achieve so."

Nixxes will join the "PlayStation Studios Technology, Creativity, and Services Group to deliver high-quality in-house development and technical skills for PlayStation Studios," according to a press statement issued by Sony on July 1.

“I have a lot of respect for Nixxes and am delighted that this highly skilled team is becoming part of the world-class creative community at SIE,” said PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst. They are enthusiastic about enhancing games and giving players the greatest possible experience.

"Nixxes will be an invaluable addition to everyone at PlayStation Studios, allowing our teams to focus on their most essential goal: developing unique PlayStation content of the best possible quality."

"Horizon Zero Dawn has done really well on PC," he added. “I believe it demonstrates that gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem are eager to explore the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for many years.

“However, I want to underline that, at launch, PlayStation will continue to be the greatest location to play our PlayStation Studios products. However, we appreciate PC gamers and will continue to seek for the best timing to release each game.

On May 18, Bend Studio published the PC version of Days Gone. That's around two years after the PS4 was released.
“And I hope that a new generation of fans will be able to and desire to appreciate that title. And that is our goal: to reach new players who haven't yet experienced the fantastic tales, characters, and worlds we've created. The release of games on PC will never detract from the creation of an exciting portfolio of outstanding console games."
