MSI Upcoming 49-inch QD-OLED Ultra-Wide Display with 144Hz Refresh Rate

MSI announced the upcoming release of five new display models, including the 49-inch "MPG 491CQP QD-OLED" curved gaming display. This announcement was made on February 21, 2024, and the products are set to be available for purchase starting March 21, 2024. The "MPG 491CQP QD-OLED" represents MSI's foray into 49-inch curved gaming displays, featuring a Dual QHD resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels. The display utilizes a QD-OLED panel that integrates quantum dots with organic LED technology, offering a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a rapid response time of 0.03ms. It also includes OLED Care 2.0 technology to mitigate burn-in risks.

The display supports a wide color spectrum, capable of rendering 1.07 billion colors, and covering 98% of the Adobe RGB, 99% of the DCI-P3, and 146% of the sRGB color gamuts. It boasts a peak brightness of 250cd/m^2, a high contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, and wide viewing angles of 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically. Connectivity options include one DisplayPort 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and one USB Type-C port.

Additionally, MSI has introduced other models such as the "MPG 321URX QD-OLED," a 31.5-inch 4K display, and the "MPG 271QRX QD-OLED," a 26.5-inch display with WQHD resolution, both supporting high refresh rates and rapid response times. The "MAG 321UPX QD-OLED" and "MAG 271QPX QD-OLED" are similar in specifications, offering 4K and WQHD resolutions respectively, with high color accuracy and the same connectivity options as the flagship 49-inch model.

The estimated market selling prices are as follows: the "MPG 491CQP QD-OLED" is approximately $1,757 , the "MPG 321URX QD-OLED" at about $1,554, the "MPG 271QRX QD-OLED" around $1,214, the "MAG 321UPX QD-OLED" estimated at $1,390, and the "MAG 271QPX QD-OLED" priced at approximately $1,069, all including tax and scheduled for release on March 21st.
