Benchmark results allegedly showcasing the performance of AMD's forthcoming performance-mainstream RDNA 3-based Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 graphics cards in 3DMark Time Spy have surfaced, courtesy of reputable hardware leaker All_The_Watts!!.

While the accuracy of these numbers should be taken with caution, it is worth noting that both products demonstrate performance levels comparable to their potential competitors. Below are the leaked benchmark results from 3DMark Time Spy, presenting the average and maximum scores:

  • Radeon RX 7700*: 15,465
  • Radeon RX 7800*: 18,197
  • Radeon RX 6800 XT: 17,098 (average) to 24,934 (maximum)
  • Radeon RX 6800: 14,503 (average) to 20,239 (maximum)
  • Radeon RX 6700 XT: 11,970 (average) to 15,087 (maximum)
  • GeForce RTX 4070 Ti: 20,437 (average) to 25,898 (maximum)
  • GeForce RTX 4070: 16,372 (average) to 21,065 (maximum)
  • GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB: 12,836 (average) to 15,000 (maximum)

If the figures are to be believed, the upcoming Radeon RX 7700 from AMD outperforms Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, which achieves an average score of 12,836 (15,000 on higher-end machines). Additionally, it surpasses AMD's own Radeon RX 6700 XT, which achieves an average score of 11,970 (15,087 on high-performance PCs).

Regarding the alleged Radeon RX 7800, it achieves a score of 18,197 on an undisclosed testbed. Assuming this testbed is a high-end system, the graphics card falls short of the Radeon RX 6800, which obtains an average score of 14,503 (20,239 on high-performance setups).

According to the latest rumors, AMD is expected to employ its Navi 32 graphics processor, featuring up to 3,840 stream processors (60 compute units), for both the Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 series. However, specific details about these products remain unknown, as they are slated for release in late August, and specifications may change.

It is important to bear in mind that these performance numbers were obtained using pre-production samples of AMD's Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 graphics cards. The configurations of the testbeds and the optimization level of AMD's current drivers for these GPUs are also unknown. Consequently, it is plausible that the final versions of the Radeon RX 7700 and Radeon RX 7800 will outperform the current samples. To ascertain their position on our list of best graphics cards, we must await our own testing of AMD's upcoming performance-mainstream Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards
