According to sources, Intel is considering a 5% price decrease for CPUs in Q3. Intel is lowering Alder Lake CPU pricing for the second time this year, according to sources in the upstream supply chain.

According to sources, Intel dropped Alder Lake CPU costs for major PC makers by up to 10% in Q2 and is planning to cut another 5% off its next-generation processors, including mainstream Core i5 and high-end Core i7 chips. These are CPUs that were only launched at the end of 2021, for example, whereas Raptor Lake is scheduled to be introduced in the fourth quarter of 2022. Intel typically reduces the price of older generations of CPUs or processors intended for a niche market, rather than current mainstream product lines.
