Elgato, a brand under CORSAIR, has introduced its latest game capture cards, the 4K X and 4K Pro. These capture cards, equipped with state-of-the-art chipsets and impressive specifications, empower content creators to provide superior viewing experiences across all platforms, all while preserving their top-tier gaming experiences on devices like PS5, Xbox Series X|S, high-end gaming PCs, and handheld consoles such as the Nintendo Switch. The 4K X, a USB card, boasts up to 4K144 passthrough and capture capabilities, while the 4K Pro, a PCIe card, delivers up to 8K60 HDR10 passthrough and 4K60 HDR10 capture, setting new standards in streaming technology and placing gamers at the forefront of content creation.

Julian Fest, SVP and GM of Elgato, remarked, "Over a decade ago, we revolutionized gameplay content capture and sharing for creators worldwide. Today, we're thrilled to continue breaking barriers for creators with the launch of 4K X and 4K Pro. These products, combining HDMI 2.1 connectivity, vivid HDR10, and flexible VRR passthrough up to 8K60 in a game capture card for the first time, will elevate user-generated content to new heights."

The 4K X is a game-changer for content creators who prioritize simplicity without sacrificing quality. Roughly the size of a smartphone, this portable capture card not only features HDMI 2.1 input and output ports but also USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity, variable refresh rate (VRR), and true HDR10 support. These features enable gameplay and capture at higher resolutions and frame rates, such as 4K at 120 frames per second, without screen tearing. Users with native 4K144 monitors or better can passthrough and capture 4K gameplay at 144 frames per second. Importantly, the 4K X is compatible with Windows, Mac, and, for the first time in capture card history, newer iPads with a USB-C port, offering a truly portable capture setup for gaming on the go.

For PC enthusiasts seeking top-tier game capture capabilities, the 4K Pro offers the highest specifications, including HDMI 2.1 input and output ports, and true HDR10 support. With up to 8K60 HDR10 passthrough and 4K60 HDR10 capture, along with VRR support, this capture card transforms high-end single or dual-PC setups into formidable live streaming powerhouses. Competitive gamers who demand even higher frame rates will appreciate the low latency passthrough, supporting up to 240 frames per second in 4K resolution while capturing performance in 1080p240 quality. Additionally, Multi App support allows users to send their capture feed to multiple apps simultaneously, enabling raw gameplay recording while streaming on platforms like OBS, Discord, and Zoom. The 4K Pro is exclusively compatible with Windows machines via a PCIe 2.0 x4 connection.

Both the 4K X and 4K Pro seamlessly integrate with popular broadcast applications, including OBS Studio, Twitch Studio, Streamlabs Desktop, vMix, and more. Elgato offers a companion app for free download, providing creators with robust yet user-friendly tools for capturing and managing recordings. It also allows for the export of AAF files, facilitating advanced editing in professional software like Adobe Premiere and Vegas Pro. Both cards come with 8K HDMI cables, and the 4K X includes a USB 3.2 C-to-C cable for immediate setup.
