Amazon has unveiled the eero Max 7, an advanced mesh WLAN system. It operates on the Wi-Fi 7 standard, in compliance with the 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be protocols, and integrates 10 Gigabit Ethernet functionalities. This system employs Amazon's proprietary eero TrueMesh network technology, optimizing dynamic network routing to maximize efficiency.
Functioning as a tri-band mesh WiFi router, the eero Max 7 distributes its operations over the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz radio bands. It can achieve wireless data rates up to 4.3 Gbps and wired connections as fast as 9.4 Gbps. With two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and an additional two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, it caters to multiple device connectivity. This design addresses a typical constraint in many conventional routers. In terms of wireless data transmission, the eero Max 7 surpasses the eero Pro 6E, delivering twice the throughput. Unique to this model is its passive thermal design, which is noteworthy given its processing capacity. The physical dimensions are detailed as 183.9 × 221.89 × 89.90 mm, reflecting Amazon's redesigned exterior.
Internally, the device is powered by an A73 quad-core processor, supplemented with 2 GB RAM and 4 GB storage space. It supports diverse channel widths, spanning from 20 to 320 MHz. Furthermore, the eero Max 7 integrates Zigbee and Thread protocols, enabling comprehensive Smart Home compatibility. It can function both as a Zigbee smart home hub and a Thread border router, and offers compatibility with the cross-vendor smart home protocol, Matter. Amazon continues its eero Plus subscription model with this release, offering enhanced internet safety measures and customizable parental controls.
Although Amazon has declared a pricing of 699.99 euros for the eero Max 7 on amazon.de/eeromax7, a specific launch date remains to be announced.
