Asus has officially announced the pricing and specifications for its ROG NUC series, introducing two configurations that cater to mid-range and high-end gaming needs. The entry-level model, priced at $1,629, is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU, while the premium variant features an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and an RTX 4070 GPU, with a price tag of $2,199. The high-end ROG NUC, with its RTX 4070 GPU, is aimed at delivering a solid gaming performance at 1440p resolution and 60 FPS in Ultra settings, although adjustments to lower settings can enhance resolution and frame rate capabilities.

However, the mobile CPU architecture might slightly restrict the maximum frame rate achievable. Despite the compact size of the ROG NUCs, which are housed in a 2.5-liter chassis, Asus has included a range of features to offset the limitations on physical expansion. These features encompass support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, RGB lighting, and a comprehensive array of ports, ensuring connectivity and expansion options are not compromised. The connectivity suite of the Asus ROG NUCs comprises two USB 3.0 ports, an audio jack, and a card reader on the front, along with two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a 2.5G Ethernet port, a USB Type-C port, an HDMI port, and two DisplayPorts on the rear. While the price-performance ratio might raise questions from a do-it-yourself (DIY) perspective, the integration of discrete RTX 40 Series GPUs and Intel's latest CPUs within such a small form factor is noteworthy, potentially offering powerful computing capabilities. Potential buyers might await thermal performance reviews to assess the systems fully. Currently, the Asus ROG NUC models are not yet available for purchase, but the recent pricing announcement suggests an imminent release.
