AMD is scheduled to globally unveil its Radeon RX 7900 Golden Rabbit Edition (GRE) on February 27, 2024, as reported by VideoCardz. Initially accessible solely in China and pre-assembled PCs in Europe and the U.S., the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE is anticipated to hit Western retail markets starting Tuesday.

Priced at $549, the Radeon RX 7900 GRE's manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) is notably lower than previously indicated at $649. Positioned just $50 higher than the Radeon RX 7800 XT and significantly more affordable (a $354 difference) than the Radeon RX 7900 XT, the RX 7900 GRE is poised to become a preferred choice among budget-conscious gamers.

Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics cards by ASRock, PowerColor, Sapphire, and XFX are already widely available in Europe, ranging from €589 to €692 ($528 - $576 without VAT), making AMD's official global launch unsurprising. The delayed entry into the U.S. market, however, may come as a surprise to some observers.

Based on the Navi 31 XL GPU architecture, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE boasts 5,120 stream processors operating between 1.27 GHz and 2.245 GHz. With 256 fewer stream processors compared to the RX 7900 XT, its compute performance ranges from 26 to 46 FP32 TFLOPS, slightly lower than the RX 7900 XT's 32 to 51.6 FP32 TFLOPS. The reduced performance translates into lower power consumption, with a rated TGP of 260W.

The Radeon RX 7900 GRE features a streamlined memory subsystem, incorporating only four active memory controller dies (MCDs). Equipped with 64 MB of Infinity Cache and 16 GB of 18 GT/s GDDR6 memory utilizing a 256-bit memory interface, it achieves an Infinity Cache bandwidth of 2.25 GB/s and a memory bandwidth of 576 MB/s.
