Acer upgrades 165Hz models to 180Hz and 75Hz models to 100Hz

Acer announced an upgrade to the refresh rate of its liquid crystal displays, with two models of the AlphaLine KA2 series to be released on March 3. 



The refresh rate of the gaming liquid crystal display will be upgraded from 165Hz to 180Hz, while the standard liquid crystal display's refresh rate will be upgraded from 75Hz to 100Hz, allowing for smoother images in videos and games.

The 27-inch full HD model "KA272Hbmix" and the 23.8-inch full HD model "KA242YHbmix" will be the first two models released. Both models use a VA method liquid crystal panel and are compatible with AMD FreeSync display synchronization technology. They feature approximately 16.7 million colors, color reproducibility of NTSC 72%, brightness of 250cd/m2, contrast ratio of 3,000:1, and viewing angle of 178° horizontally/vertically. The interface includes HDMI 1.4 × 1, D-Sub × 1, 3.5 mm stereo mini jack × 1, headphone terminal, and built-in 2W x 2 stereo speakers.

The estimated market price for the KA272Hbmix is around €150 including tax, while the KA242YHbmix is around €130 including tax. Both models will be available from March 3, while the gaming liquid crystal displays with a refresh rate of 180Hz will be available from April onwards. The stand supports tilt adjustment from -5 to 15 degrees, and the VESA mounter has a 100 x 100 mm pitch.
