lot said "ho no i don't like W10" "i prefer Vista (btw the worse OS since M$ established)" "XP is far better (for the youngest it's the OS before Vista but better lol)... I just say: Instead of bashing just come to the dark side, come to Linux... we have cookies, doritos and beer πŸ™‚

more on topic it's just a mode that everyone should have already manual done for serious use of a desktop machine.

Pushing out useless features just to justify your salary doesn't necessarily makes you productive or innovative.

Arguing with your opinion to justify your opinion....so yeah.

Doubt i'm going to use this, seeing Gaming Mode caused more trouble than it did good for me. I have no issues with stuttering either (using 1703).

HATE. Hate. More hate. Burn em to the ground. So rational.

I for one am happy Microsoft is taking steps to cut the bloat and give people the most of their hardware. I hope this eventually makes it to laptops (cuz ya know sometimes battery dies and you dgaf about conservation since the cord has to be connected anyway) and every release of windows in one way or another. I too was wondering if this does the same thing as core unparking--probably, and maybe even more. who knows what kind of under the hood tweaks they could do everything razr cortex and bitsum process lasso do and more. I don't design operating systems or scower the registry to fully understand it nor do I work at Microsoft so how could anyone like me possibly say? people have been flaming MS for years about giving us more performance and continue to do so in this very thread about how they have delivered what has been demanded... I will probably install windows pro workstation on one of my 5 machines to test it in park control. interested to see if it works on an older machine even though they're saying it's for newer machines. I have w10 installed and running fine on old laptops that are below the system requirements wouldn't be surprised if this works on everything, like park control. p.s. and Redstone 5 Build 17604 just came out too. both are early releases. they forked it so rs4 ppl can flesh that out and rs5 can do new things. both feature 'ultimate performance mode' on pro workstation builds only.

woah bro. just upgrade installed redstone 5 17604 on my older desktop (from redstone 3 enterprise). from this ISO: a thewincentral article called "Windows 10 Redstone 5 Build 17604 ISO images (3rd Party) now available" (also has links to other windows 10 versions and even 7/8.1 ISOs ~ had the wrong info/page here before this has been corrected this is the ISO) - installed successfully mounted as an iso from an external drive - 'windows is activated' - in 'system infomation' shows up as Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise Insider Preview version 10.0.17604 Build 17604 - I HAVE ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE MODE πŸ˜€ (in power and sleep settings, in enterprise, not workstation only like MS said lol) - in CpuCoreParking Manager 3, it does indeed show core unparking! Balanced power scheme set as active puts 'core parking index 10%' and 'frequency scaling index' 5% / Ultimate Performance Mode power scheme active > index 100% frequency 100% - nothing falls asleep and everything is set to 100% in that power scheme only display is set to fall asleep after 15 mins just like it used to (everything on only monitor turns black on idle) - and who knows what else! πŸ™‚ - had a watermark about preview build and disabled it with a tool called "universal watermark disabler" - watermark disabler forced me to sign off windows and then when I came back and opened edge I was logged out of guru3d, logged back in and everything I typed here so far was still there lol. that's pretty awesome. - ...Microsoft put a warning in the action center. though it was for a defender scan... nope. just a notification to log into Microsoft account for 'enhanced security' > dismissed lol. oh MS lol. - just checked to see if I had to patch my registry again to disable the meltdown fix since it doesn't apply to my amd cpu's (as descebed in the winaero article "Disable Meltdown Fix on AMD CPUs After Installing KB4056892" … nope ~ still patched ~ there's some more performance for ya guys. since this isn't a fresh install I can't be sure if this was 'my' patch or if MS fixed their own overreach on fixing intel's meltdown problem but there u go this is pretty awesome. I couldn't be more pleased and am excited to go see how smoothly a few things run πŸ˜€ I suspect this is doing even more than core unparking but maybe that's just wishful thinking lol. nice to not have to rely on a third party tool for this now though. will probably fresh install redstone 5 on my machines because the redstone 3 fresh install had a bunch of glitches (like how I had to upgrade install from rs2 or I couldn't access my external hard drive). i will also check if 'ultimate performance mode' works on my old laptops they said workstation only and that wasn't true. have fun y'all! p.s. try to avoid useless troll comments with no constructive information it makes it harder to find relevant things in here. maybe be more helpful if you care so much =) j/k i'm being cocky lol.

Seeing a lot of people getting worked up about nothing again. Seems to be a recent trend on this site. They probably just renamed the high performance plan. I wouldn't imagine it would be that much different. Anyways don't really care about this because I use balanced plan with my OC and speedstep.

So ...... activating "ultimate performance mode" on your "advanced edition" of Windows 10 is going to be a thing. Maybe they will come out with a "feature" where "ultimate performance mode" only works if you have a "advanced edition" license.

You missed a line somewhere "If you’re a Windows Insider running the Workstation or Enterprise edition, you can see these features in Builds 17079 or greater." πŸ™‚ https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2018/02/14/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-17101-fast-build-17604-skip-ahead/#eWSJgmFL5Dvum8YS.97

Lol god damned jokers are running the show now. First "game mode" and now this. RS6 will have the ultimate emojis pack too.
My dude, I once got a 0.2 average frame rate increase from 50 to 50.2 using Game Mode which may or may not have then resulted in instability and a crash and I may or may not have had to disable it after. Microsoft are pioneers paving the way to the Ultimate Futureβ„’. On a serious note, I have noticed in some games (like RotTR) that exclusive fullscreen results in a few extra frames, which mattered to me at the time since I was getting less than 60 fps even with the lowest settings I could stand. It made for less noticeable stuttering. Most of the time I haven't seen it make any difference whatsoever though, and I've never measured any performance increase using Game Mode that wasn't within margin of error.

I guess having OS for mobile and desktop devices does make things complicated. But introducing "Extreme Gaming Modes" and gaining some media attention, perhaps makes things more tolerable.

Well nice for those who this mode is applicable. Personally I am a proud user of process lasso pro. Much better and older than anything Microsoft could come up with. Keep it up. πŸ˜‰

This is not really a big deal at all. Those who don't want it like myself, will continue to use another power plan like balanced. What people should be getting mad at Microsoft for is this stupid windows 10 update assistant that keeps popping up. I had to manually disable it in task scheduler to get it to stop stealth installing on my PC. Just downright disgusting that Microsoft is trying to sneak their fall creators build on people when they aren't looking. I wouldn't be holding off if it wasn't so buggy in the first place. Maybe Microsoft should spend a little more time stabilizing their OS instead of trying to find more sneaky ways to force it onto people.

It would be nice if this option disabled all the bullshit bloatware they install that takes up resources.

Everyone keeps complaining about Windows 10 using a ton of resources...Now for gamers and for high end demands that require a lot from their hardware, you're going to have 16gb of ram or more at least and a decent multi core cpu an gpu. At 16gb, Windows 10 only uses about 2gb with everything stock. I never usually even hit pagefile honestly. I've tried disabling useless services like printer spooler for example, even Skype and Cortana. Did not have any impact really. But then there are apps like Chrome that can use 2gb of ram just in a few tabs open. More or less this seems like a move to appease people, for years really most people have not needed to disable services if they have a high end rig, even mid tier rig. There are tests also all over that show there is no real difference in performance from 8 to 32gb of ram even unless you want to do some massive multitasking, even then your pagefile has you covered with 8gb of ram.
