I wonder how they differ from non-Pro versions. In case you were wondering if they're reliable enough, non-Pro 6GBs seemed to be a bit better than 3GB versions: https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-stats-for-q2-2015/
in short, the differences are: 1) 5 year warranty on the pro vs 3 year warranty on the non-pro 2) gaurenteed 7200 rpm on the pro vs 5400-7200 rpm on the non-pro 3) the pro is designed for 8-16 drive enclosures, whereas the non-pro is designed for 5-8 drive enclosures. really the red pro is aimed at businesses who want some additional gaurantees for performance and reliability, and the non-pro is more aimed at a home NAS which shouldn't be put under the same level of usage as a business environment. hope that helps 🙂

I bought 2 x 6TB Reds just over a year ago for my 2 bay NAS in RAID1, no problems so far! The price though has only dropped just £4 in that time from the same place I bought them, now that is surprising.

I'd like to see these in 12TB flavors. That way I wont have to worry about ever having to upgrade my nas for a very long time 😀
