It's probably for the best, never cared much for Sandisk anyways.

Only thing I can say about them is they're the cheapest on the market, got a 480 GB one for 97 quid

Less competition and higher prices, yay!
Seagate's standard tier 3.5" 2TB drives (OEM, no box/cable) are on sale for $92 now at a local shop. Less than a year after 2TB had just hit the market I bought 2TB Seagate drives (which were the equivalent tier to this current model) for $70 a piece at that same store.
I said it when the flood happened, the prices are never going back down. How long has it been? And yes, WD, etc, have all kept their prices bloated.
At this rate SSD prices are eventually going to catch up.

I hope they can save SanDisk from the tramp stamp.
Their SSD's suck and the only other thing I really know them from is MicroSD cards which is honestly old news by now.

Haven't a any problems from any of my WD blacks. I've heard the Green's are crap for general use. They are storage only.

Run WD exclusively when it comes to traditional hard drives. I've had one failure in the last 5 years. Had a 6TB Red drive start giving me a lot of errors, replaced under warranty and haven't had any issues since.

Sandisk was well known for their SD cards and their USB flash drives and now SSD drives. And the Sandisk USB drives that I own still work. As far as WD drives go I have had no problems with WD green drives they work very well for general storage purposes. In my Desktop computer I have a WD 3TB Red drive for storage and its been working very well. Could we see WD USB Flash drives?
