This seems like the first patch that could solve most people's problems with the game because of the seperate worker thread for content creation (I guess the biggest reason for lag during driving). Can anyone confirm it is fixed ? Maybe now we can finally buy the game...

one word, Ubisoft. Enough said. For this developer is dead on PC.

People used to say that many times before, and yet, these games sell great. With new Assassins Creed they clearly stated with the requirements that it won't run well, but I suspect people will buy it anyway. Also, sometimes patching works. I can remember CoD: Black Ops 1. This game was running so bad even on high-end PCs, that the game was virtually unplayable in multiplayer mode. However they managed to fix it and later on it was running pretty much fine. of course I'm not saying that it's a good practice. The product should be released when it's ready, not when it just compiles.

This. I too suspect this was the main issue. But still the vram requirement is pretty ridiculous. Imagine that I was playing it on the 1GB version of the 560. Minimum details full hd, 70-80 fps with vram usage dangerously close to 100%. Pump up ANY (and i mean any) detail setting and framerate dropped to 30. I see that optimization shortcuts are becoming more common and I am seriously sad to see that. And in light of this, I do not understand why nvidia chooses to keep lower amounts of vram on their cards lately.

idk now. But with your spec, this game should not be your problem. I got 40fps+ on 1080p with max setting (TheWorse Mod) before this patch.

Too late! I finished the game and the DLC. What does a patch that comes so late after release brings to the people that buy the game on release and supports Ubisoft? That's the reason, why people alwas wait for Steam Sales and the PC versions doesn't sell good compared to the console versions. I won't buy Ubisoft games anymore! They're just searching for a reason to say that they won't develop PC-Ports in the future because PC versions doesn't sell good. The ACU requirements are insane and nearly everybody that I know will know buy a PS4. The Deal with Microsoft seems to help Sony, too. In 1 year after ACU reaches v1.06 and every single bug in the console version is fixed, they will begin to optimize the PC version. Very good work from Ubisoft!

Considering how much they prefer to recycle their engines and code, any optimization work they do is welcome!! It should've been there from the get go though.

I believe that companies adopt this tactic to not undermine sales on consoles as 40 or 50 percent of PC gamers will download the game illegally, wait for the commercial life of the console version is giving its last throes to fix the PC version and have happy people who have purchased the PC version of pace and take a few more sales, this happened with The Evil Whitin, Far Cry 4, The Witcher 4 etc ...

I downloaded and tested the patch. Definitely a solid improvement. Stuttering is pretty much eliminated.

I tested it yesterday and the variance of the frame times is a lot improved. But that's 5 month too late.

Too little too late. Wouldn't play this game if it was free and for anyone who wants it, it is free. Most games from ubi aren't even worth the install time....or hard drive space...or seconds of your life contemplating its worth.

I have Bf4 if I want to rejoice at late fixes. Not that I even play it any more. At least EA takes public feedback and doesn't do all that parity/30fps bull****. Consoles is cancer for the games industry. Its caused games to be dumbed down and linearized to cater to lazy sheeple and now even graphics standards are starting to slide backwards to accommodate inferior hardware. Before long we might have games like solitaire and minesweeper as the latest craze. Sometimes the world just baffles me.
The majority of the best looking game I have seen have been multiplats and most if not all of my top 10 games are multiplats so I don't see how the fault lies with console parity. Only a few devs pull that $#!+.

I will just download the patch & check it myself & update you guys !

Developers are the ones dumbing their PC games down. Consoles are not the cancer, lazy devs are. Place your blame appropriately (preferably with your wallet).

are you drunk? evil within just came out, far cry 4 isnt out, and Witcher 4? Evil within has framerate issues on console, far cry 3 was a mess on console, witcher 2 came out late for xbox and not at all for playstation, the assassins creed games all run at a terrible frame rate on consoles... its not a problem unique to pc, pc gamers just care more.

I honestly think the specs required for assassins creed reflect the only hardware they bothered testing, they listed a phenom 2 running at 3.0 ghz plus, an fx chip or an i5 2500? it doesnt even make sense.

Have you been living in a cave? AMD has been dominating Intel for years with their CPUs /s

Maybe you guys were just to early. Now is the time to buy this game and cheaper too. I will now experience this game for the first time better than you guys who bought it early. Patience is a great thing 😉 Yes I do understand the game should not have been in the mess it was but still...

If i had to take a guess, i would say greed.:infinity: longevity is bad for them, they want people to upgrade often, so before your card becomes obsolete due to lack of power, it will hit a brick wall due to lack of vram. Also, it gives them slightly more profit by cheapen on vram i think. 🤓 Seriously, sony was able to put 8gb of GDDR5 in a 400 dollars machine, and Nvidia can't do the same with cards that cost u$500+.
