Looking forward to seeing the CPU performance benchmarks for the game. Btw Hilbert. Any plans for similar article concerning Assassins Creed Valhalla when it arrives 10 November?

Lets hope not. These ubisoft broken games are a waste of his time.

Undying:

Same performance as the 1660ti.
nah, lower XD

Sorry but no, just no. It's not a spoiler, it's the storyline based on the public WIKI for the game. If you don't like that bit, don't read it?
That's a very unfortunate stance... In previous Benchmarking articles only the basic information on the setting and game play was posted, yet in this one it's the whole story line without any warning of spoilers. Wouldn't it be better to use the "Setting" portion from Wikipedia which explains the game setting and provides a short overview rather than spoil the entire plot of the game which some people have been anticipating for a while? What happens in future articles like Cyberpunk? Regardless, this account was only created with the intent of trying to highlight what i believed to be a simple editorial oversight because some readers may care about it (like i obviously do).

Duly noted and I'll take it into consideration.

ilbert , why your pictures without RT are crispy and those with RT/DLSS are blured ? For me RT off looks much better ( crisp and clear).
I've been noticing that as well. When you take the two source images in full screen, the effect is far less apparent than when the UHD images are scaled down on the page though they are the very same source images. It could be related to the image comparison script but I am actively trying to figure out as to why that blur is so apparent. Update: okay there's definitely something funky going on in the comparison script, I've contacted the developers and made a note about this at the perspective page in the review.

I can't get over 70% utilisation of 3090 in 4k low medium high and ultra. Can't get over 60fps in traffic with RT on and DLSS Performance. My CPU never goes over 75% on a single core too! Why is there 30% performance left unlocked here?

Watching the "joker" video his 9900k was having up to 80% usage in the city streets so game is capable using all 16threads. I wonder will 12threads or less have some issues or stuttering.

Both have same crispiness in Firefox. Even under closer examination while comparison frame is open in separate tab. - - - - But I can say few things about what can be seen. In dungeon, GI/AO has some issues in DX-R while reflections look closer to what I would expect from puddle. On other hand, Cathedral has very good DX-R GI/AO, but they intentionally overdid reflectivity of floor to point it is completely unrealistic. And that's why non_DX-R floor looks more realistic. I would like to see amount of polishing required when thousands of people with dirt and sand under their shoes scratch such floor every day. Reflection should have been more like surface scattering. = = = = Reasonable reflections been done before w/o DX-R and cost of raytracing. And while GI/AO can be done too, it would be better use of computational power. Because proper light shading is what our brains notice most. It is not like we have a lot of reflective surfaces in our homes. And with exception of metallic/glass objects, we do not get to see reflections much on other surfaces. Reflection on objects gives like 15% realism, lighting like 85%.

So basically in game there is nothing like that , because if things looked like that , that would keep me off from RTX ....

No, the script is bugged. I've removed the comparison slide code and implemented a temporary solution, just hover over the images with your mouse. These are good now.

No, the devs just need to get their act together and fix the game.
I see what you did here, nice joke. Don´t you see the devs have their hands full preparing all the MTs and DLCs?...

Not interested in the game but imo those reflections in the video clip look amazing, much more realistic than crappy SSR which looks plain ugly in many games from last few years, for example Resident Evil 2 remake and Sekiro (reflections disappear at the sides of the screen). Clearly performance issues are down to Ubisoft just hacking in stuff into an old engine, however I now reckon we have reached a point where we need CPU's to make generation leaps in performance too going forward. They have stagnated longer than they should have, we need to thank AMD for pushing things as of late. As for Intel (been using them since I began PC gaming) F*** em for holding back on development for so many years and raking in the cash, with their RND they could have been miles ahead at this point. Sure their 10nm tech went wrong but a company of that size should have had contingency plans.

Digitalfarce:

Ubisoft is the new king of flashy, empty soul open world games. There are some cool concepts in this game but it is marred by: Absolutely no optimization. It's taxing my overclocked RTX 3080 and I-10700K with 32GB RAM on a M.2 SSD. Every modern Ubisoft game is clunkfest The dialogue sounds like it's written by a 14 year old who just discovered profanity. Two minutes in, the AI starts dropping F Bombs. Really? For every cool, intriguing moment, there are 10 moments of "Hey random dude! I am part of a super cool hacking group called DeadSec! We will totally hack the government for you! High five!" Buggy and not ready for release. Could have used another month of polish at least
The dialogue is absolutely atrocious from what I have seen along with the very boring stereotype tropes that Ubisoft like to add to their games (well like most AAA publishers these days).

Yep. I was stunned at how the intrigue/seriousness of the game is ruined by the absolutely cringe-worthy lines from most of the main characters: "In a sinister plot, this organization is looking to rule our world... and our lives through technology. We need people like you to join our ranks to defeat them...." "Well, ok! Sounds great! Let's do this thing!! YEAH!" WTF??????

There are two things you're going to notice today, Pascal and Polaris are out in regards to performance ...or you just set the graphics quality to "high", and you're good to go with 60+ fps. I think it's not bad from a 4 years old midranger. What is more interesting to me, is that even with the 3090, 144fps/hz @fullHD is not achievable... CPUs should really do some big jumps performance wise, I guess

Are you 100% sure you got it right? I don't see anything anti-aliasing going on. It's like DLSS is not adding or taking away anything from the original. Like DLSS is OFF on both left and right images. Or perhaps ON on both left and right images. Also... 1024x574 image resolution... can we increase that somehow 🙂

Looks like I might as well wait for another patch or 2 to fix / improve things. I have the game but have only messed with settings to make the benchmark run comfortably at 60fps so far. There's no rush, not like I am falling behind as I would in games like Battlefield.

The benchmark program in this game does NOT represent the actual in-game performance at all. Not that it's a bad looking game mind you, but the performance costs are just not justified at all. It is horribly, woefully unoptimized. The benchmarks in this article are basically worthless at this time. The game actually runs like complete DOG SH*T no matter what settings you use, even on RTX 3090's. The only way to fix it at all for now is to drop it down to DX11 instead of DX12, and then you can't use Ray Tracing, which would be fine with me if it didn't also introduce some very bizarre and ugly graphics anomalies, such as halos around characters and messed up fog and blur all over everything, just as a couple of quick examples and send your CPU usage through the roof... and that's not all. Aaaanyway... the game is a dumpster fire technically, it doesn't make full use of your system's CPU or GPU at all, and it honestly needs about 10 more patches at the very least. It should have been delayed another 6 months minimum. It's a real shame, because otherwise it is fun and has some good game play ideas, but the AI is also really stupid as with most Ubisoft games. The year's biggest disappointment... so far. (looking at Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and trying HARD to keep the faith)
