Pretty sure the above presentation was done under favorable/best sound scenario room set up by experts.
But, exciting nonetheless!

Real life technology beats Star Trek more and more.

Can't take the brand seriously.

I think this is a result of military tech by which they are able to project a directed beam of truly deafening sound (eardrum-blowing) across a battlefield. Imagine taking audible communications away from the enemy!
I'm sure someone will come up with creative/practical consumer applications for it at some point, but stereo speakers that only emit sound in one direction? Even if you set these next to your monitor you would like have to point them toward your head to hear them without missing frequencies. Unless you have the left pointing directly in the left ear and the right pointing directly I the right as in headphones you don't have to wear (but you're still limited to where you need to sit), I'm not sure where this would go.

F*ck that neighborhood in particular.
And I see a beam of ADs with sound streaming directly in narrow passage on streets and facilities. Might be more annoying than cool in companies hands.

Solution to noisy neighbours playing music at 3am?
As long as the speakers aren't facing your wall anyway

The tech is cool. One already has a sweet spot for audio with traditional setups. This appears to remove all the sound outside of the sweet spot. This is good for late night gaming and listening without the need for headphones. Might be worth playing around with these depending on the price.
Can already see the pranks, actual voices appearing to be in the walls.

For it to work well you'll have to live in a greenhouse.
Unless of course the glass panes can track your movement and follow you around.
The very narrow beam of sound is pretty useless once you start moving around.
You could of course have some fun with a device like this. Just place a gun scope on one of the panes and put it on full blast and aim it at people half a mile away and see them wince and react to it.
I remember as a child i used to play with small pieces of mirror when it was sunny(not often in UK). If you had good eyesight you could blind people from miles away. ^^

FYI, This tech is about 10 years old. follows the normal time release of new technology.
I 1st learned about it from the American Technology corp. under the Name HSSS Hypersonic sound speakers.
the inventory of this even did a TED talk about it.
