If that is the final design, I'm really keen to see how that cooling solution performs. I wonder if AMD would be able to undercut the AIB's somewhat?
They'll probably only have a limited run and when stock is gone let AIB's take over.

This is 2nd time they do a triple fan ref cooler. After the RVII.

the cooler screams trapped air.

That's a good point. Still, it's the most interesting reference cooler design AMD have done in a long time (VII wasn't pretty lol).

Even though I have my heart set on the Nvidia 3080 I have to say this is a really good looking shroud. I hope AIBs take notice and this trend continues across the board in the industry.

like always with Radeons - overhyped and underdelivered
Fury, Polaris and Vega fall under that category for me. How's that "always"? What about Radeon9000 series? Most of the HDxxx lineup? The R9 2xx lineup? AMD was the winner there unless you swallowed nVidias marketing BS.

Not quite [youtube=6uxLy1qWRAk] Also looks like a HBM design too, check the video and where he talks about the screw placements on the back of the card...... "POSSIBLY!"

Well, I can only comment on the aesthetics with certainty, this is an OK looking card, probably better looking than the RTX 3xxx series. When it comes to cooling performance, I won't say a thing yet, since we've seen the triple fan in action before in Radeon VII. I must say though, I did prefer the VII's minimal design, not that this is too much for the eye.

There is zero hype from AMD themselves this time around. The only thing we have is Lisa Su saying some months ago that they will try to compete in the high end.

Also those swiping statements, both ends, are really tiring. Really if you have nothing to say or ask, you can just read.

I remember my HD 7870 very fondly. It did very well for itself and carried me far longer than it had any right to. Edited for grammar correction.

You're ignoring how air pressure, flow and intakes affect a standard installation for a card. air will not be ejected from this card sufficiently when placed adjacent to a side intake fan. its not HBM.

Looks nice but the important parts are the performance and prices.

Can't wait for the XFX 4 slot "Phat Thicc" edition. It will also make your characters ass bigger in Fortnite.

At 1080p, (gaming on a Son Projector) I'm super happy with my 5700 XT... Like ultra happy, games just melt at my feet (like Mort) at 1080p.

Who has side intake fans these days? Even if you have one, then 95% of aftermarket coolers suffer from that problem. Side intakes have become pretty useless in a front-back setup :|

Gamers that aren't vain idiots, and actually have stuff in the case as intended instead of being empty barebones showoffs.

at least it will be a decent cooler on day1, especially, since we might have to wait for AIBs for months

Not sure what you mean. I haven't had a side panel fan installed in for ever - even before I replaced my old case for a more compact one that eschews side panel fan mounts. There's pretty close to 0 coolers that benefit from it now, with a side mounted fan in front actively working against exhausting heat from inside the cooler. Unless of course you have a very tall case where there's room for a fan below your GPU cooler's fans, or an extremely wide one with a vertically mounted GPU that you can then push fresh air in to. My 3 front mounted 120mm fans with top and rear fans for exhaust makes more sense than blowing air in to the side of the cooler of my GPU, against the fans on it.
