yea, AS wasn't really that good, people just got hooked to "silver" . Every decent ceramic paste was a lot better. (and one, maybe even two of them are from Arctic 😀 )

I bought 1 tube of AS3 and 1 tube of AS5.... Neither were any better than the cheap tubes of "silver thermal paste" that CompUSA used to sell... Arctic MX-3 was considerably better than AS5 could ever hope to be....and then it got discontinued....

You should give a try to gd900 1/5 the Arctic mx4 price or less ... Same performance ! I used it recently so far so good and according to tech yes city 18 months later was just fine , really i got 30ml for 6bucks ..... I was just willing to throw it away if it was trash 😛
Where are you finding gd900 that cheap? On Newegg, gd900 is considerably more expensive than MX-4. A 1g tube of gd900 is $10, and I paid $9 for a 4g tube of MX-4....

After just a very little bit of experience (lol) the best way to put thermal paste is very thin heigh, in one side then perpendicular of this side (like painting). Every surface in contact with cooler should be covered (not the socket lol). Put the cooler then fix the screw "in circle" like the wheels of a car. turn on the computer make it heat, then control the cooler's fixation. The best ever paste will have no effect if the cooler doesn't have it's contact surface alligned with the suface of the CPU (and at the right pressure). Thermal paste is NOT a dissipator, it's not the quantity that will make the CPU cooler (like in most DIY video on internet) but the cooler itself, the paste only conduct heat. Avoid silver, gold or metal if you don't know what you are doing you might destroy thing. Think to change it regulary (and it's a good idea to clean dust from the inside too 🙂 )

Because of my experience with arctic silver over the years and how expensive it is for the amount that's in a bottle this triggers me because of the waste. :x
I suspect people buying this wont be doing multiple applications for the life of the TIM. So that tube TIM will just sit somewhere on a shelf.

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut here, and I agree with most, I personally would be too scared to use the product in OP.
