I expect the RTX 4090 to be around $5000 as well. 4080 probably closer to $2000 maybe. Gamers can have RTX 4060 for $1000.

Hard to believe they are releasing new products in the 3000 series.
The Microcenter near Philadelphia has lots of 3080Ti's in stock at around 1900 bucks and 12GB 3080's at 1400.
People are either now waiting for the next series, or inflation is starting to slow Geek spending. 🙂

The 3090ti is pretty boring if you already own a 3080ti or a 3090.. The 40 teraflops is easily obtainable by overclocking the ram on those cards. I am just going to use my time machine and go back to the 9700pro days vs GeForce 4600ti when gaming was an escape.

XX10 will become mainstream someday.

must be miners who don't care about price as leakers said the 4000 series will be roughly 80% faster in rasterization than the current gen
making a 4090 80-90% faster than a 3090 but also a 4070 faster than a 3090
not selling mine tough as 4000 series will probably be 3-5000$ and that would be over what I'm willing to pay
beta releases predatory criminal monetization already pushed me away from gaming I'm switching to real life activities more and more

the end-of-cycle is a friggin' weird time.
on one hand you have the 3090ti - obviously a halo product, and one that requires a workstation class psu (honestly tho' i should say legacy workstation class psu).
i had thought the 1kW psu went the way of SLI (joke)
right now in US $, AMD's 6900XT (and the binned version), and 6800 (not XT) are within 5% of MSRP.
idk honestly wtf that's all about. did the miners get tired? was the bulk of the miners in China, now facing official displeasure?
in any case buying a 6800 is cheaper than buying a 3070ti and with better performance.
the 6900xt always made the 3090 look stupid re: price/performance and the 3080 was the better buy for those wanting RT fps.
even though Nvidia diversified the fabbing, they kept to their pricing strategy just because their cards are more expensive to make with lower yields than AMD - but the scalping hasn't let up.
whatever Nvidia is offering for Lovelace (Ida or Linda) had damn well better offer high-end performance in the mid-range (even better than 3060) because AMD finally has had the money to fab more GPU silicon.
the (fab) order size for RDNA 3 is immense in the ballpark of double or slightly more than double of GPU silicon being fabbed from RDNA 2.
i don't expect anything quite like the 3090ti (which is why Nvidia is releasing it now), but i expect at least four SKUs that will "destroy" the 3060 through 3080 at lower prices with a lesser impact from crypto. that said, the first tranche will always be sought after by miners, but AMD is making more silicon with them in mind. i hope Nvidia does the same, but i fear they will not as they've long had close association (and direct sales) with miners LHR or not.

Nvidia does have Gforce Now for $100 bucks a year or something.
If you are not feeling 4k-5k GPU and do not forget the tax for 6K price on GPU,while shopping in Canada here is a tip ,shop around buy a crap ASUS Tuf RTX 3080 for $999 Cad that's $780 USD and play on low settings for years in the future. Feel free to buy the ASUS Tuf RTX 3090Ti for $4649.19 at that Canadian store. As much as I love PC Gaming and want the best and for me price was never a problem, until now with the ridiculous car prices on GPU.
Just to be clear this $999 Price on ASUS Tuf RTX 3080 has been up for a couple weeks now in Canada. The price difference between the ASUS Tuf cards is massive and the performance is not massive

Going to pick up his new RTX 3090TI after paying for it with more than an arm and a leg..https://media4.giphy.com/media/12T3GHb7tQ4g48/200w.gif?cid=ecf05e47b2o04t2qke9tdhpiw5x7qzsgnmx4h7wrtk8nixmg&rid=200w.gif&ct=g

With these prices pretty soon we will have video cards dealerships like there are car dealerships now:
"How can I help you Sir - are you interested in speed, performance or comfort and economy? - this nvidia/amd 60xxx takes "only" 12 MW per our and you can play at hd resolution everything without the noise of a turbojet..or are you interested in our GT super sport 60xxx Ti Gold, etc (marketing crap here) - it will make your neighbors jealous (bragging rights) and the noise...my goodness, pure symphony for your ears - (Product Warning: they will also notice your electric panel in fumes - it's a feature not a bug! - and be tempted to call the fire department so please put this warning sticker on your gate)"

I'd rather shoot myself in the foot then pay current prices. It's about time we all stop buying for a couple of months and give them time to think about their life choices.
Once Ethereum switches to "no more mining with GPUs" you'll be able to buy this stuff for peanuts. In any case, I'm playing 5 - 6 year old games which are still about having fun gaming and challenging your gray matter, then monetization and dressing up.
Just glad my old AMD R9 280 is still operational.
I mean just look at that miscarriage of a GPU, rx6500 that was farted out by AMD. That's something I wouldn't touch with a stick, let alone pay what they are asking rn

The 3080's are now back in stock. But at 150% The original price, for a new versioner crippeled for mining making it a worse value for the consumer. I'd simple not spludge on IT knowing a new series is releasing this year.
