Elder Scrolls was one of the absolute hit series that really made it for Bethesda. Then they abandoned it entirely after Skyrim, allowing the stepchild ES Online to take its place, apparently assuming all the single player loving old fans would suddenly convert into MMO fans, no questions asked. Of course it's Bethesda's prerogative with their own game and franchise, but it's still sad.

I wonder if they will announce another release of Skyrim.

Yeah they've milked that Skyrim to hell and back, releasing 9 versions of the same game! The level of laziness that Bathesda has reached is unreal.

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. No game journalist has gotten a real verification out of Howard or other Bethesda honchos, apart from the past "it's not currently in development" or more present "they are going to start working on it after some other product in the future" (Starfield). They have indicated it might be released after this or that game, but such things aren't set in stone and could easily change. Now it has been more than 10 years. There was less than 10 years between Morrowind and Skyrim, with Oblivion between those two!

No need to try when people just keep buying it.

Oh i thought the "trailer" that was just cgi landscape and saying in the end elder Scrolls 6 was their "announcement" that they are working on it.

Elder Scrolls Online is handled by different division from Zenimax, you would be surprised how many people play ESO for its single player aspects. Despite optional subscription, it is b2p and offers a ton of sp content and of good quality as well; for example all quests and interactions are fully voiced and some by high tier actors. it's not like some korean garbage mmo, where you smash spacebar to rush at the action. I agree, Bethesda took a long break with TESVI but it is coming 100%, doubt they have anything to show now because all the focus is on Starfield.

I called it a stepchild because it's made by another studio under Bethesda's blessing. Other than that, the fact it's decent enough, from what I've heard, only underlines how Bethesda assumes it will keep Elder Scrolls fans happy despite no "real" new Elder Scrolls in sight. I'm a huge ES fan, but I have zero motivation to check ES Online out.
