Without HDR10 or Dolby Vision Support, it's a huge miss because I would think the people who would be interested in this product, probably have purchased into these technologies.

I have a Philips 4k TV with that ambilight on it, it was disabled one day after buying it, might as well be sitting with a some traffic lights in your living room. lol

At the price they want for this, you can start looking at other products that do more, like actually syncing to the screen edges instead of the picture average. Nice try, Philips, but this falls short. FWIW, I have color bulbs in my office synced to my gaming PC via the free Hue Sync app, and it's actually great for gaming. Room goes dark when the game does (which helps a lot to see what's going on), and the color sync does indeed help keep you in the game somewhat. It's just not a $200 plus bulbs feature.
