GREGIX:

Lights and shadows looks soo much better than in ohyped RT Battlefield V...
Have to agree, even with Ray tracing in those videos it doesn't look revolutionary.

Nvidia have async compute?
Yes on Pascal and later 🙂

You just say that, because you think RTX is too expensive 😉

i have a feeling this is going to be the new ashes of benchularity ! great performance review HH !
In which I have about 500 highly enjoyable hours and plan on many more. Those who glibly dismiss Ashes of the Singularity as a "tech demo" are simply foolish. Like the ones who said the same of Crysis.

Thanks for the broad review, Hilbert, that provides such a nice gradation from the 1050 on up. I hope you will add the RTX 2080 and TI to the chart when those results are out.

The game looks rather fun imo. It's a setting that is fairly unique and different then most other games, so that's a big plus for me. Nice performance on a variety of more affordable GPUs too. 🙂

Agonist:

HOLY S***, look at the Fury X go at 4k. Even then 1080p, 1440p results are really good.
Look at the ancient 390X (aka 290X)!!!! And I doubt Guru3d has updated their FuryX/Nano Firmware to their April 2016 AMD official UEFI one. Which improves performance clock for clock and allows higher overclock also. (1190 for the FuryX).

Thank you Hilbert for posting this article. I was particularly appreciative to see the graph on VRAM usage; this is due to the fact that both of my 1080's were using ~ 5,300 to 5,500 MB's while playing this game. I would also like to say that I have been enjoying Strange Brigade.

Raider0001:

U do not really need CPU power for games, these are not that complicated tasks (like calculating proteins), U just need something to handle the graphic cards driver according to the performance it is capable of doing and then some for the AI and sound and engine

It's a Denuvo game. Wouldn't even want it for free.

Where did i even imply anything at all about the game in a gameplay manner ? If anything ashes of the singularity is an example for everyone else ! Amasing optimisation supports 2 apis asynch compute scales with more cores support multi gpus ...and the list goes and goes and the reason it is a defacto game benchmark is praise to it's optimisation i wish every single tittle was as well optimised as ashes! But seriusly i was only talking about the benchmarking potential of the tittle .and calling it ashes of the benchularity well it is just a joke chill

What do you mean "funny game"? I think a lot gets lost in translation with you sometimes Hilbert DId you mean "strange"?

BReal85:

I know it is an AMD supported title, but look at how AMD cards destroy the NV competitors: RX 580-GTX 1060, Vega 56-GTX 1070. Vega 56 even tops the 1080.
Wow, more expensive cards are better then cheaper ones? What's next? Supercar beats honda civic?

1060 6gb 249 usd msrp 580 8gb 229 ud msrp Vega 56 399 msrp 1070 379 usd msrp Not sure what are you talking about although the vega i doupt it was any time you could get it at msrp ....maybie with bundles....but still bleh, but the 480 580 1060 and 1070 was a while that indeed you could get em at msrp you can not use the inflated prices to say is natural for the 580 to beat the 1060's bum, because actually the 1060 is more expensive! In otherwords if i buy a fiat punto for 10k ....and i can flip it at 30k does not sudenly becomes aluxury car or a sports car it is still a punto neither the normal price is 30k from now on .

Stop irrelevant answers and posts everywhere in multiple threads proving it's all about money and the most expensive attitude of premium buyer is the correct one. You are tiring. If you have the money go out for some clubbing in your free time. Cheers.

@Venix yea, those prices....check if you can buy at those wishful prices. Especially Vega. As for 580, I sold 32 of them last week, used, 280eur a pop, to another miner, all of them so he got a discount. They are over 300eur new.

did i ever said you can get em at those prices anymore ? their lunch prices are the ones listed ...and those are what they price would still be or a bit lower if the mining was not a factor ...that they perform so well in mining and that inflated their cost is another matter the inflated price is cause of the users .... amd positioned those cards on 229 to compete with the 249 1060 6gb selling cards on 1 tier higher in price because you can ... does not making em higher tier cards ((and to make clear i do not blame you for selling em over msrp i would have done the same my self))

Well I payed ~330 a pop...Not the point. rx 580 is a good card overall, usually faster than 1060, and at the moment (and for some time) costs more than 1060 6gb. Market set the prices as they are now. Thankfully, they are going down. And Vega 56, honestly, where available (to me), they cost over 500eur which is insane.
