Many people I know had hopes for artifact to be a skill based game without investing lots of money. Boy we were wrong. Valve just created its very own money making machine, with not 1, but 2 pay walls.

Artifact will die as soon as they don't pay streamers to play it anymore. And it needs to die in fire, paying for every run (or so I've heard) is ridiculous.

At this point I think more people are happy than unhappy that HL3 is not coming.
