How many games have we seen that had amazing screenshots during the development stages? and when the game eventually came out it looked nothing like them fancy pictures. Also, by the time the game actually gets released (if ever :P), the graphics might me outdated.

This is exactly what the game looks like. If you're a backer you can download the game and see for yourself.

um I Have Star Citizen, server fps is 30 fps at best, 32 bit not 64 bit yet, game crashes every time I use it, parts of game don't work unless you restart your computer and fresh restart your game, getting in and out of space craft is a crap shoot, some times it's a smooth transition, sometimes you get ejected into space and free fall forever and have to restart all over again. Game randomly goes black screen between transitions and have to restart game. I have never seen anything like the pictures posted ever. Space is cold and dark, planets are a back drop, not part of the game yet, if ever. Never have seen a color rich planet, or been on a planet interacting at all! The space ships are cool looking, but the hud and interface are close to useless. Fly, aim, shoot, fire a missle, repeat is about all you can do right now. LOL this game will never be what those pictures imply. This company is nothing but a pyramid scheme, with empty promises. If this game goes gold I will post that I was wrong, and never post a comment again.

Sure, if you're happy to play at 15fps on anything less than a 6 core, Titan powered rig.

All the screenshots here are from 3.0 which isn't released yet.

Uh - there is a lot wrong about this post and some right. The game is definitely buggy and has weird animation issues, but that's like the last thing you polish. Remember its like pre-alpha at this point. The game is modular and the location module is 64bit (it's really the only one that needs to be). The planet interacting stuff is 3.0 and isn't out yet and until it comes out there is no point of polishing the static planets that are in the game currently if they are just going to be removed. You should also look up what a pyramid scheme is - because even if you think the game is a scheme it certainty isn't a pyramid scheme.

The open world module thingy is limited by networking performance - if you run it locally you get a significantly higher framerate. All the other modules I get 60+fps on my 980. I haven't played it yet on the 1080 (they need to do another free weekend so i can). The networking issue is supposed to get fixed after they finish refactoring the network module.

if you followed the developlment at all, you will begin to realize Star Citizen is not any game. It has Chris Roberts pedigree of Wing Commander fame. Also, The game is crowd funded and playable now. It uses a heavily modified Crysis engine, and will have ongoing enhancements through its life to never be outdated much like an MMO. Roberts has stressed that graphical fidelity and content is the major objective and he is a true PC enthusiast like most of us here and hates that fact that PC games have been consolized. Its PC only for reason because the fidelity he wants is simply not doable on any other platform. This is not "One Man's Lie" which was closed development upon release...

The Graphics were quite glitchy. Shadows were poping every minute. Another thing was the lack of ambient occlusion on the rover. Watching that thing drive in a shadow felt very artificial, because shadows were missing. Alos, I didn't like that they made the sandstorm very violent and VERY short. I would have loved if that sandstorm stayed for an hour+. Epic game nonetheless.

They set that whole thing up for the demo.. obviously it was scripted and they wanted to just give a taste which is why it was so short. Hardly something to be disappointed over.

May be about time to hop on the bandwagon.

Yeah, in demos like these they have to script stuff because they want to show specific things. Kinda hard to do something like that when everything is random.

This is actually one of those games that looks just better and better. Remember the original Kickstarted video? It looked great back then but even the current live alpha version is on totally another level.

I agree 100%, everything they keep showing is from there Test Universe which only like 5 people have access too. This game had promise, I have put hundreds of dollars into ships... I think they built 3 crysis games on the amount they have put into this game and its still alpha... If it takes another 10 years for this game come out I will probably be dead by then...

You clearly have computer problems and most of what you said here is a flat out lie. If you said this two years ago when all that existed was a hanger and arena commander, then you may have an actual point. But the fact is that those who continue to hang onto this dream of this game being a complete failure like Derek Smart are becoming fewer and fewer, and if you look at their claims two years, one year, or even 6 months ago... they've been made to look like complete fools. Here is another video showing the upcoming build being run in real time. its not some on-the-rails scripted video. They demo'ed the previous version in real time as well, screw ups and all included. https://youtu.be/pdCFTF8j7yI

I just did a fresh install with windows 10, no ISSUES playing any other game maxed out. Tried to play star citizen, everyone on the server was complaining of LAG, I was getting HUGE amounts of LAG, even with a RAID0 850 pro getting 1.3gb read speeds..... it was smooth as long as I did not move.

It's a modified CryEngine 3, it will look amazing.
