Very interesting to look at indeed double slot cards have been around so long now that it's hard to think about the old days with single slot coolers.

It's really impressive that such a small cooler is capable of cooling a GTX 1070. maybe using more efficient material like copper made it possible to design a small single slot cooler for this card.

Love it but I hate the blower noise. Would be great if someone did a noise test on it.

Loud and hot. Seems like not be best solution.

i wouldn't call 3C more then the founder edition dual slot as a huge temp increase...

FINALLY It has been way too long since we've seen a high-performance air-cooled single-slot GPU. Sure, it runs hot, but not hot enough to be a problem. Unlike MSI's stupid "ITX" edition gimmick, this GPU would actually fit in more ITX cases. The length might be a problem for some cases, but based on the pictures I estimate this GPU is roughly the same width as the mini ITX spec (170mm), not including the mounting bracket.

if you dont crank you gpu lot, dont think blower going that much noisy i know that u buy a gpu to get it full-power not buy a 1070 but only gaming 720p i use 1070 asus turbo, on game i play heroes of the storm, street fighter v all ultra setting on 1440p dual monitor, the gpu never goes above 65C so the blower fan never reach high rpm either... so far its quite enough for me most of time case fan is more noisy than the gpu

I don't OC my current GPUs since its unlocked but when with vsync off and nothing going on, the fans kick in hard and noisy as the FPS goes up. My GPUs are a tad long in tooth - coming up 5 years this December so perhaps noise wise, this GPU is quiet! 😀

Chances are if you're looking for a slim and small enough system, you aren't expecting the full range of what a dual slot or even a 3 slot card will give you. Even throttled, I'm sure this 1070 still performs pretty well.

I think my last single slot GPU was a 4850.... you could fry bacon on it before I put a ghetto improvised aftermarket cooler on it. Still, with the improvements in power consumption etc over the years I'd be quite interested to see some stress tests and benchmarks with this Galax model.

Good to slap a full cover on it .... but i have Doubts about the VRM looks weak

Looks pretty good. Kinda odd having them vent the air out the side like that, but you do what you can. You would almost think they would vent it out the back then have a plug for a break-out dongle for the outputs.

stick two of them together and you've go...no, let's not start the craze of gluing GPUs together again 😀

Great they can do this, and it might be perfect for someone with limited space. The last single slot GPU I had was the 8800GT, BFG I think. It was a great card, but that tiny cooler was loud. Also just remembered that when it was moved to my wife's PC, it got so hot that the sticker curled up and fell off, and that was just from The Sims 3.

If you sig gpus are correct, they are older then 5 years old. They are 6 1/2 years old almost now.

Sig GPUs are real... lightening storm took out my previous PSU and MB 1 year ago, hence the need an emergency upgrade the cpu/mb/cpu and ram at that time. Was going to wait for Vega but these 2 long time game partners are about to give up the ghost so I looking at this card. I hope Vega comes out soon so I can make a decision.

May want to invest in a surge protector too. Not like they cost much. If you already had one, get a better one.

based my personal experience, with multiple dead modems and pcs caused lighting strike those wont help much, nothing can stand direct lighting hit surge protector only protect little jolt, as you can see on the packaging joules rate most lighting strike way for higher than that single strike is approximately 5 billion joules vs surge protector that only can hold like less than 5000joules sure some give warranty few thousand bucks for electronics item that plugged to surge protector, but again claims and result might not as simple as marketing said... not to mention the long process it need to be done the fail proof is that when there is lighting storm unplug everything

Agree about the surge protector. I actually have one and it survived but the PSU and MB didn't. Best advice to unplug everything.
