I pre-ordered this game also and I like how they stated that the developers were working on the game til release and that's why it was late or whatever is total BS! The build date of the game was Feb 27, stupid excuses.

Well it's on track to being the worst reviewed product on amazon.

I'm having a great laugh about all this.
It's amazing how a small developer like Bohemia manages to make their launch (a countdown launch no less) go smooth as butter and top the Steam charts, but a giant like EA can't even get their end to run properly on a blockbuster game (yes, I know the load is different, but so are the company sizes).
What's more hilarious is when I heard that it lacks basic features like Subways and buildings like zoos. This just reeks of micro-transactions on top of a $60 games, no thanks. The more I read about it the more it looks like a Facebook game that got a standalone download.
EDIT: I just noticed that it has 4 (FOUR) Day 0 DLC's that cost over $20 extra. Oh hell no.

Man I remember the D3 Launch it was horrendous and the same thing happened here with Sim City 2013. Pretty much D3 had the same kind of people asking for a refund. I was kind of interested in this game as a fan of Sim City but now I'm totally disinterested. I wonder if EA/Maxis can Iron their server issues in a month like Blizzard did with D3. Im not surprised that this happened.

Here is my non-biased review
After playing the game for at least 20 hours now i can say that most of the server problems are fixed, there is still a few hiccups but nothing like it was at launch. The multiplayer is fun for me because my roomate also got the game so we actually work with each other in regions making specific style cities. The game itself is fun and they did improve on a few things that were annoying (to me) from the previous games like not having to add water lines or power lines anymore.
Now my biggest gripes are that 1. The map size is defiantly too small, i filled up the entire map within a few hours and had 230,000 population. But there is some fun to it being small because the game turns in to what are do i need to destroy for more water or power, or should i remove that industry to add more residential. It really does add a challenge and its just not who can make the biggest city. If the map size was doubled then it would be perfect IMO. My second gripe is that alot of the game is virtulized and doesn't really take potential of local hardware i.e my ssd. I know that they did this to cater to more lower end pc's but i wish they gave some option to run it in the cloud or locally. I knew something was fishy when the origin download was only 200mb.
All in all the game is still fun but it does have its flaws, but hopefully those will be addressed like the traffic AI, you get gridlock pretty easily no matter how good your roads are laid out. Also i am in no means a EA fanboy, i actually did not want the game at first after playing the beta. But this will defiantly be one of the last EA games i purchase unless they seriously with there insane DRM. EA really did ruin some aspects of the game.
