there is a huge market at this (under served) price point for graphic artists who don't need all the bells and whistles. plus, this is Samsung reaping the benefit from their massive investment in IPS. they finally have economies of scale where the production cost has dropped dramatically. this isn't true of QD/OLED or mini-led. but professional grade (broadcast) monitors have that at stratospheric cost.

Shame the 27" is actually hdr400 not 600

since Freesync is free i don't see any reason to leave it out. G-Sync is a horse of a different color
