Witcher29, Ips are the ones that got smearing buddy in dark colors not va. I never ever go back to ips or either Asus or LG there quality control is terrible. I myself got the C32HG70 smearing is fixed with latest firmware VA has good minimum respons times, decent average ones, but horrific maximim respons times and that is where you get the black colors smearing. https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/images/lg_27gl850/response_3.png Im not saying VA cannot be fine for some users, also for gaming, but it dosnt change the fact the VA panel tech has a severe handicap when it comes to respons times compared to TN and IPS. It is also very game dependant, in some games you wont notice the 20-30-40ms transitions times for VA, in others it can be seen very clearly. Im fully aware the VA has certain advantages vs ips and tn, always been like that, but talking gaming, respons times matter for alot of games and gamers. I have yet to see any VA panel id rather own vs top or the line IPS.

Anyone here interested in 'curved' screens? Just wondering, because if this manufacturer is producing curved screens (including TV) then, I'm guessing they have done their research and know there is a market for curved screens...yet, I cannot think of any reason why I would ever want a curved screen, for tv or pc. I also get the feeling they have got a stockroom full of curved monitor frames and screens, and need to sell off this leftover stock.
I have a curved TV and monitor while still having my old flat TV and monitor. I don't think it makes much of a difference. At first i thought a curved monitor would bother me while coding but not really. Even in Affinity Photo and Designer i can still work at the pixel level just fine. I tend to prefer curved personally even if the difference is marginal. It feels more natural. Definitely would not change back to a flat monitor for gaming.

Sorry your feelings are hurt but yes your very correct! Yes basically all "gaming monitors" without those specs are trash !! Especially less than 2K. Sucks to be everyone. G-SYNC HDR Ultimate is a game changer .. It is what it is .. The only losers are those of us not getting G-Sync HDR Ultimate and buying very bad downgraded alternatives ... Sucks not having the proper tools for the job.
Some life forms give impression that their genes were downgraded too. Yet they are not discarded just because they are different and not able to do certain things properly or at all.
Please stop being harmful.
Gosh i always knew i was a peasant for having a non G-Sync monitor with only Freesync. I should return to my root and buy some farm in the north and leave internet forever. Cya guys i need to milk my cows tomorrow morning i'm not worthy enough for PC gaming. I'll have to sell my Optix Mag27cq i guess.

AOC is a display maker !! And so so is Samsung ... But don't get them mixed up ! These are are all AOC - AOC AGON AG353UCG - ACER PREDATOR X35 - ROG SWIFT PG35VQ
AOC does not manufacture panels. Any monitor they sell is going to have an LG/AUO/Innolux/Samsung panel, just like Acer/Asus/Dell/Gigabyte/HP or anyone else. All of their curved monitors with 16:9 ratio are Samsung panels.
First off much needed "1000 Nits" is a must in a new gaming monitors ..
This is a joke. monitor LCD contrast needs to be improved 100x over before they need to be worrying about brightness. They push brightness because it's the only thing that can really be done/improved with LCD panels. There are no good HDR monitors. The best ones are on par with mediocre 500 dollar TV's from TCL.(and that's literally the honest to Gods truth) Contrast is what makes good HDR, not brightness. LCD's can't do contrast, so they market the brightness. There's a reason that the OLED sets win for best HDR performance every single year at the various TV shootouts despite there being LCD TV's that get 3x brighter.
With out those PC Gaming technology features in your next generation monitor it's purity much garbage without .. https://displayhdr.org/certified-products/
I hate to be the one to tell you, but VESA is a collaboration of panel/display manufacturers. All of these HDR 400/600/1000 ratings exist to sell monitors, not make sure you're getting some official, capable product. The methods they use to measure contrast can be easily gamed (and have to be for an LCD to meet them). It is a sham to get you to shell out 2000 dollars for a product that can't hang with a budget model TCL 6 series in picture quality. .

What sucks is on finding the perfect Gaming monitor there is something always missing or lacking ... Never well balanced specs... People always take what's most important either Hz, HDR, Size, Resolution, type of display IPS/VA/TN, G-Sync HDR, Freesync 2, Nits, display Rascal etc etc ... But usually always something watered down in other areas. Then you do find a couple of them with more rounded specs just to find out the price is over 2K. Leaving us with the sheep. I'm hoping MicroLED technology will fix all of this?
Well, one can have $300 55'' 4K TV with "HDR" and FreeSync + bad processing lag. But Gaming HW is plagued by marketing and premium prices. If one took sum of required components to cover all primary feature, product would likely be made for 1/3rd of shelf price. But as long as people buy those super expensive monitors, they will be made. That's one of reasons I did not jump HDR ship. - - - - Then there is that choice... IPS/VA/TN, each has its own poison, none is universal. And that's why there is market for them. OLED/microLED can fix it as you wrote, but not the price. Even if manufacturing gets reasonably cheap, they will not go and undercut existing IPS/VA/TN screens. Would those newer screen technologies been made by new player in screen market, then ti would be different story. But no company is going to hurt its own products just because they are now manufacturing 10% of total volume that is superior to older 90% technology.

So true $3,999.99 for an OLED Dell gaming monitor, anyone?

Honestly I'd pay $4000 for a 27-34" OLED monitor (maybe an ultrawide) if they could guarantee zero burn in for a minimum of 8 years.

I'd love it too but they are inherently prone to burn in due to the technology......I don't see it being improved anytime in the near future. I would still buy an OLED for TV's though!
