Nvidia and AMD don't like each other but it seems to me they're under some sort of "truce". It amazes me how little they actually fight each other, but I think they both appreciate a healthy competition. Nvidia and intel don't get along either, but intel doesn't want anything nvidia has and nvidia realizes they're never going to get what they want out of intel, so they kind of just sit idly by.
Samsung also shouldn't have much interest in intel. If they attempted to sue them, it would be a lost-cause. If you sue intel, you either have to be struggling for cash or you have to be 100% sure you'll win and accomplish something. Intel seems to be slowly catching up with the mobile market and unlike most companies, they don't seem to sue everyone into oblivion to get to the top;probably because they can't. Intel is under many governments' radars for monopolizing. They could sue or buy out nearly every competitor they have, but they'll have a serious legal problem if they do.
As for AMD, they're not a threat to Samsung. AMD is just a gnat to Samsung, and their interest in ARM doesn't appear to be targeting Samsung's market.

Intel already pay hefty licensing fee's to NV for GPU patents. Usually companies have licensing deals in place. Samsung an Qualcomm believe their covered by ARM IP. NV is saying no, an want's licensing money. Samsung is countering an saying NV breached their patents etc.

Samsung can kiss my ass. Their product support is ****. Customer service is ****, as I had call them once, left a message on a machine. Did I hear back? Nope. Had an original Galaxy phone from them once, used it for 3 days and returned it as it would drop calls 30 seconds in. I would really like to see Nvidia come out on top for this one.

Samsung's warranty and Customer Service are worth as much as used toilet paper..... Of course, so are most of their products....

wonder how much it all costs .. to sue/take to court a company like samsung or nvidia as for taking small companys to court they prob screwed?, if your company was loaded and you need to stop a small company from gaining any tech over you even if they proved they have not copied or what ever, could it halt a small companys funds (due to court costs etc) to move any tech further forward untill the matter is resloved ? if so this could be used in a sly way to slow down there targets progression. as in draining well needed funds that should be going in to project now have to be redirected into being sucked up in legal battles etc?

It's like kids fighting on the school playground. Nvidia seems pretty adamant about their case, but lets face it Samsung is the big kid in this fight. In the end probably nothing will happen.. I think at most some $$ may trade hands both ways and that will be the end of it. Nobody's stuff is going to get banned, but still glad I got my 3 "titan cooler" 970's from BestBuy on Friday though 😉

If they do Nvidia would crumble almost instantly.
This would be extremely bad for the GPU industry.
We would end up paying STUPID money for AMD GPU's unless someone else entered the market to compete.

Popularity of a product, has nothing to do with the product's quality. The Scamsung smart media player was nothing but a scam. Scamsung offers no support for it at all and releases known buggy "firmware" designed to increase failure rates.
Scamsung's TV's are average at best, and typically overpriced. Their blu-ray players suck. I'm on my second Scamsung blu-ray player and it'll be my last. The first one, through "firmware" updates, slowly lost it's ability to play DVD's and older blu-ray discs. The current one, is exhibiting erratic behavior that has gotten worse with each "firmware" update.
My calling Samsung, "Scamsung" has come from having many of their products fail pre-maturely and them refusing to honor their product warranties as required by law. Their "Customer Service" is the absolute worst of any company I've ever dealt with.

Yeah their TV's are pretty mediocre. My new TV has a worse viewing angle than my dad's 7 year old LG. I don't know why they're so popular.

Actually, without the complete ITC text, we dont know exactly what gpu's, technology are infringe or not the patents of Samsung. Something is sure Samsung have a lot of patents in the memory side, cache controller, mask production..
In general, with 2 company who backfire like this, if both are right, this will not end by ban products ( its nearly impossible to really ban the products of a company like that ). They will do a cross licence on patents ( you can use mine for free, i can use yours for free ).
Well i will not really do much comments on this as we have absolutely no details yet.

well I have a Samsung TV and I hate it specially the video playing software that come with it . it literally complain that can't play half of my Videos.
and its voice recognition software miss what I say for half the times .

I heard Samsung complained mainly about some memory related license .
well I wonder if its true wasn't those license belonged to Rambus ?
