270w and just 82oC? I find this hard to believe when 12900k at 241w can reach 100c (in CB23) with the best air cooling and around 93c with average priced AIO..

to be expected, high frequency and very high transistor density. In the future I suspect that direct die or full encasement will become unavoidable, unless the power consumption can be drastically improved through some other means than just making the transistors smaller.

Nobody is going to see these kinds of temps or power draws outside of a benchmark unless they're doing renders all day long (on either platform).

Or some avx test and since this new zen4 is 512avx capable, it could be where most heat and wattage comes from.
Athlonite
Meh TDP is now a meaningless number the real number we need is the total power draw at max all core speed

AMDMan2016
Up Til September 2017 i was strictly AMD processor user, knew nothing on CPU Cooling that much, used the Stock Intel Cooler for 4 years on my I7 7700 i had then.
Updated in June 2020 to Intel 10700, went with what Shop used at the time when built this PC, Stock CPU Cooler til May 2022, and decided to upgrade to a bigger a bit Tower Cooler, Originally wanted to go with Be Quiet Pure Rock 2 Black, but had issues installing it, so Plan B lugged it to PC shop, and went with whatever Air Cooler was in stock. Arctic Freezer 7X
Cools much better than the Stock Air Cooler did, so i'm pretty happy at this point.
