Wow. Looks promising. But comeon internet.... I need more rumors regarding core clock speeds . I am craving for grain of salt.

Maybe it's time to put those salt shakers(or those table spoons if a salt-fre@k) aside boys... Because this is looking better and better. 😀

Never seen that clip of Keem. Pretty funny! lol.

Let's keep them until benchmarks are out, mkay?

I hope some review sites plan on testing memory support and performance scaling with Zen2 early on, so we can decide which memory to get. With the new IO chiplet and all, it would be interesting to see if it still loves memory bandwidth so much. 3200 with a good latency used to be the sweet spot, but if the RAM support has improved a lot, maybe getting a higher module is actually a significant benefit now. Would love to see some tests when its time!

Do we know if Zen2 (ryzen 3000) has a custom made IMC from AMD or it is a purchased design from 3rd party as with Zen and Zen+ ?

Considering how heavily integrated it is with InfinityFabric and their iGPUs, I would assume it's an in-house design.

The reason for this is if they ever release 12 and 16 core part, it is going to chock with dual memory channel. That's why I claim that Intel 9900k will still beat both CPUs in gaming regardless what AMD does with memory.
Wrong. AMD's IMC was already at par with intel's in initial Zen. Memory intensive workload for up to 8C/16T will behave exactly same and it will be IPC that will decide performance. For workloads using more cores/threads, IMC will matter, but it will still do better than just 8C/16T unless IMC is saturated even prior using those 16 separate threads. But then 9900k would choke in same manner as their bandwidth is quite comparable. Most of the workloads are really not that memory intensive. CPU is not GPU.

@karma777police Personally I don;t care if Intel will still be king ! But I would really like to spend my money wisely .

Except that it OCs like shit, of course.

True but it was because they didn't give a seperate clock modifiers. With Zen2 you will have MEMCLK, FCLK, and UCLK to tweak. With zen/zen+ these shared the same clock domain and it put to much stress on the IMC and Infinity fabric. MEMCLK External memory clock FCLK Infinity fabric UCLK Clock speed of memory controller (can be set to MEMCLK or 1/2 MEMCLK)

And on that I also assume that we don't actually need fast memory to have a fast Infinity Fabric?

Correct. Right now in the current BIOS'es the IF clock can be set from from 333MHz to 2100MHz independently of the memory clock.

This is a great confirmation that the crown of "gamer" CPU of blue side is falling down! With sure the ZEN2 will run 4000MHZ with nice latency and with the @ 5.0GHZ on all ZEN2 CORE will SMASH Intel! And the better.... MORE CHEAP! It´s probably that, disable the 16 threads, the 8-CORE with nice AIO cooler and thermal paste will hit 5.2GHZ. Prepare yourself... the green times are coming!

3.2GHz with 4 sticks and 3.6GHz with 2 sticks is far from crap.

And with DDR4 prices almost back at June 2016 levels... 80 bucks for 16GB instead of 190 😀

Yep, way more sensibly priced now.

I'm not so sure. Zen 2 has twice the amount of L3 cache as Zen, and that will make a huge difference as more data can be kept closer to the CPU. Also, most desktop applications are not bandwidth intensive enough to really be crippled by dual channel; especially if its high speed memory.

Goddamn son, dunno where that imagination is coming from but you need to tone it down a bit.. its not even certain that it'll hit 4.5 on all cores and you're going crazy with numbers like 5? with LN sure but for us mortals no way in hell..

I already hit 4.3 stable on all cores with a simple all in one box liquid cooling kit on my 2700X. And was the first to show that ram could at least be bench stable at 3805 2 x 16 GB sticks back in November unstable for general use back then. People are now able to hit 4000 Mhz on their ram since all the bios updates. If you do not think AMD pays attentions to us overclockers and use our tweaks we post online you are sadly mistaken. While they also do their own things they do keep up with what the user base figures out and figures what they can incorporate. Further it is already been already been demonstrated once you apply all the security fixes needed to all the many many intel chips they lose quite a bit of performance. If you fully implement the security you need by disabling Hyper Threading just think about it or I can if needed showing the testing and evaluations. As I do though with all big releases leaks is to take them with a grain of salt, but generally the Ryzen leaks have all pretty much turned out to be true and as well know Ryzen+ was a huge leap forward over Ryzen. Now with the Ram speed decoupled from other things...we have seen specs"leaks" on at least one motherboard with 4400 (OC) speed. And we actually know the Ryzen 3000 will start with a 3200 Ram Jedec. See where I am going with this. Just ran this...still tuning the newest bios I just installed today. Took the sceenshot while it was running. https://i.imgur.com/5wB477A.jpg And just cause I can show it...notice my Vega 64 tearing up the graphics with memory timing tweaks with the new tool we now have. https://i.imgur.com/7g98Rpt.jpg So in closing all things are possible. Let me add with windows 1903 my Physics and Combine scores also went up significantly.
