Wasn't September the originally planned launch date?

End of August / September for shelves, what I figured as well since they postponed the announcement to August. More or less same time schedule than RTX20 release.

If they postpone any longer it will be out of date? 40 $eries time!!!

They will launch it a week before AMD :P Anyway, it looks that many products will be postponed to 4Q / end of the year.

This. It feels like the whole world has been postponed to the end of the year (or to the end of whatever it will be) tech, sports, movies etc. I was eager for the release of the 3000 series, as I stuck with my 1080Ti all this time, but you know what, seeing how things are going right now, I don't really care anymore and consumers as a whole are probably less ready to throw out money on such "non-essential" things anyway. 😳

Yeah, seems silly NV postponing it for only a few weeks. As if they know everything will be back to normal by then. They should just keep quiet until things begin heading back to normality.

With the looming recession, I won't be surprised if it will be delayed even further.

they are giving a little more time to AMD to show big navi

With PS5 coming out not sure I even care honestly. I'll be going there for exclusives, and win 7 + 1080ti can get me another 1.5 years I think. Backlog is too big. Next upgrade will definitely be going for some kind of used Zen 3 or something. Hope I can make it that long, but quite honestly I don't have many doubts. So many games...
Sony has been jumping on the PC bandwagon in recent years. Exclusives from Sony and Microsoft will be a thing of the past soon. PC Gaming FTW.

If was from an hardware company i would delay everything until the end of the year...

This may be true for MS but not for Sony, they are only releasing a few exclusives after the sales have dried on PS4 and now that they are preparing for the PS5.

Still though, I just don't see a point in buying consoles now days for a small handful of exclusives. The last console I bought was an N64. 😛

If the recession ends up in a deflational situation, it could indeed push prices down. Bad for the economy, good for the consumer.

You know the saying, When the rumors are thick, so is the BS! There's absolutely no indication of any greater than Turing architecture on the horizon! Pascal was great! Turing is even greater! The next one might as well be Turing on steroids, right? Realistically speaking, The architecture has matured. The only benefits that we still can get, are: - more RTX cores per GPU - pcie 4.0 support. - possibly more than 1 GPU core per package would lower the cost of monolithic GPU dies. Pcie 4.0 is only necessary for 1x slots at the moment, as in most cases that would fully saturate (no bottleneck) a 2080Ti or similar in performance.

I'll gladly take Turing on steroids. I wanna see better RT performance.

Meh... i dont give a flying fack about RT performance... i just want more rasterization performance, and i want it noooow... and it needs to be considerably faster than a 2080 ti...

Nvidia isn't exactly under pressure to get this released sooner. They want to appease shareholders, and although a few weeks isn't going to do much, it will do something to improve initial sales.

Yep. The 5700XT will last for the next gen. PS5 is my next upgrade.

MS is porting the games to PC. SONY not. The only PS4 exclusive on PC is Horizon New Dawn and this 3 1/2 years after its release. We won't see a single PS5 exclusive on PC because it won't run on 99% of the PCs people have, according to Steam Survey. Even the Xbox X Series games would have really high specs that the same percentage won't be able to play at all.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/172/172560.jpg
so no 3060 for $500 3070 for $800 3080 for $1200 and 3080Ti for $2000 ? Shame..

Hmm... You're asserting a paradigm shift where the Console is going to decimate the PC gaming market in a year. This is why the Steam survey is garbage in many respects.

Nvidia will wait till the Covid19 pandemic is somewhat under control before they try to rob us with their over inflated prices, as they say...you can't squeeze blood out of a stone.
I don't know... I mean, is it an accident that the amount the FED is gifting the proletariat, ~$1200, is around the same amount as Nvidia sells their top tier?
