Milk your users with overpriced flagship gpu then slowly release other less overpriced cards. Briliant!

Now that I think about it, I seem to recall 3060 Ti was only released in January. If that's the case with the 4000 series as well, I might have a really long wait ahead of me to see a card that would be of interest to me. 4070 will probably cost 700 euros, likely even more, so I'm not going to look at it, aside from academic interest. I do hope, though, that AMD wouldn't lag behind as much as it did last time. It was due to waiting for the 6700 XT release, a couple of months after 3060 Ti, that I missed the opportunity to buy a 3060 Ti.

Those buying a RTX 4090 simply want that card and shouldn't complain.

4070 is now rumored to come in Q4 this year and yeah, 700eur+ is also what im expecting. Anyway if you get opportunity for a decent priced 3060ti or 6700xt just go for it.

Do you think ferraris are overpriced too, just because peek performance cost a premium? Iโ€™m happy if they release the best card first.

I have lost hope in seeing a decently priced 3060 Ti. Its price is probably not even going to drop to the level it had right when it was released, before the miners made them disappear soon after. At least not in Finland. Paying more than the full price for an old gen card when the next gen is right around the corner is only for someone who absolutely needs a new card immediately. AMD 6000 has flawed RT performance, so they don't really interest me that much. If AMD has fixed the RT performance in the 7000 series, then it's a different thing.

Dont sweat about rt performance you wont be playing much with it even if you get 3060ti.

It all boils down to what kind of PSU you'll need for the 4090.

I wonder if they will release any affordable video cards aimed at gamers.

So they get back to their old strategy from the time when they were doing GPU for gamers... It's a good point.

Ferrari are for those that have money only, they are beautifull but not really performant, if you want real sport car you don't buy that ๐Ÿ™‚ (i have some "cavallino rampante" on my race and track hunterboard)

Not a good comparison. Ferrari makes very few cars. Just consider they made 10.000 cars in 2019, and that was a record for the company. They are a status symbol, a work of art, a luxury very few can afford. nVidia makes millions of GPUs per year. Many are used not only for entertainment, but also for work, learning and research. It's very likely that Ferrari uses nvidia GPUs to design their cars.

Comparing elite performance cars and generic electronic components is pointless. Who is buying a graphics card as a long term investment ๐Ÿ˜€
data/avatar/default/avatar33.webp
That is good idea. Sell one card very high, don't release anything similar and better prices , after market is saturated , release something 5-10% slower for 30% less money and sell even more.

I`m! The way prices are of GPUs are increasing, someday they will be so expensive that are going to be considered an investment...

Itยดs common practice an many industries do the same, even carmakers are doing it! The question is if the remaining cards are going to be priced decently or if they are going to be overpriced again.

There is no going back to 4070 or 5070 cards at 400 eur/usd price range, that era is gone

the sad part is that they'll sell out in 10 minutes of going live so I guess they are ok being milked.
