I have seen some rumours/speculation that crypto mining might gain a new boost later in the year, so maybe Intel is aiming for that. It would look good in the stock owners' eyes if every single card was sold before it even reached store shelves.

The reality is that most people don't buy high end GPUs. New mid range cards from a 3rd player that compete on price/performance would be fantastic. I don't think anyone realistically expects Intel to compete in the high end space with their first ever series of GPUs.
