"Pre-order now and get a new skin for your horse" ,or "Ride a tactical horse on the battlefields of the WWI".

Will there be a sword/club fighters? WW1 had a lot of medieval stuff going on. Till then I am going to stick with Verdun.

I know things sometimes got pretty messy in the trenches but I don't remember sword/club battles from my history class.
In Europe I think they quickly realised swords weren't terribly effective against heavy artillery. This well known archive footage from the time illustrates that:

I just hope they have remembered how to design levels.
The quality of level design peaked in BF3 and somehow forgot who it was when BF4 came about.
Armoured kill maps in BF3 are some of the best ever produced in an FPS. Close Quarter maps were initially thought to only exist to counter the lack of infantry maps - and then people realised they were just superb levels and took back their comments. Aftermath maps introduced new gameplay elements and a wonderful new colour scheme, not too mention fantastic vertical gameplay and frickin' earthquakes. End game maps although not played as much as the other maps, were still regarded as excellent standards of design for FPS.
BF4 was a terrible game comparatively. Take Noshahr Canals and the BF4 equivalent replacement in Dragon Valley. Everything about Noshahr TDM in BF3 had been removed and replaced with one of the worst maps in BF4 overall.
DICE have got a lot to make good on, but I strongly and fervently believe it is all about the quality of the level design, and nothing else.
Apart from the netcode (which is apparently a Sony/Microsoft playstation/360 problem which made it to PC) issues, this was a winning team:

Calling it now, Cavalry rush will be OP.

This won't be WW1. I don't believe this 'statement' came from Dice. Also, it's a single online shop nobody ever heard of... would be a decent publicity stunt to 'leak' something, no matter if it's true or not.

weasel
I don't think WW1 is suitable for a battlefield game.It would be nice if they did a vietnam or korean war version.
@fantaskarsef got your memory problems solved ?

Siskods9
I'm not interest at all in WW1 or WW2 themed games.
For those who are hyped, I hope the Devs do a quality job, enjoy.

Has no one heard of Verdun?

If Battlefield wants to see what WWI is like, here's a pretty good example. I can't see a WWI shooter being THAT popular.
Personally, I want a WWII BF!
Updated graphics on a WWII shooter would be excellent!
Cheers,

@Basic Training
Indeed good game 😉.but i don't think much BF players are into WW1.

Weltkreig doesn't mean it's WW1, we already have the brilliant Verdun. World War could me conflict on a global scale like other BF games.
