What's the max number of computers on one Origin game?

Each 4th hardware change triggers the DRM protection. I would assume under the same IP you can run it with 3 PCs.

Hilbert, will you make a DX11-DX12 comparison? It would be nice to see it. As I checked the 2 German benchmarks, it seems like AMD holds their fps when switching to DX12 while NV loses some.

I'm glad I have hardware that gets me more than zero fps! 😛 Talk about unplayable! Joking aside, seems like it scales pretty well. CPU wise I'm really curious, just built my brother an FX machine and want to see how it scales on that.

Yes, but at this stage I want to wait until AMD and NV have updated their driver -- and whenever I can access the game again. lol.

look at Vega64 @ 1080p go.. 😀 Guess higher resolutions cripple those 64ROPs

A bit weird seeing the Vega64 performing so well in low resolutions. Also weird that it wasn't scaling as great in high resolutions. Isn't it usually the opposite?

An overclocked FX CPU is usually just fine for 1080p@60FPS gaming, and should handle 2K just fine. You're probably going to get bottlnecked if you go any higher than that.

It's because of unoptimised drivers from nVidia showing CPU overhead, we've been seeing this fairly often with Vega now, Vega seems to be quite reliable in terms of performance - I believe it's by design AMD wishing to create a persistent performing card with reduced driver/CPU overhead hence why the higher resolutions show more typical results - nVidia optimised drivers when they're released will see normality resume.

Another game even the press can't benchmark because of stupid DRM. Will not buy. Thanks for the hard work HH!

If you're talking about PCgameshardware, they say that enabling DX12 automatically enables dynamic resolution. It seems like they didn't notice that before publishing their results. They point out that DX11 still is superior once disabling the dynamic resolution, but that DX12 is alot better than it was during the Beta

With EA games having their heads up their hind quarters with their DRM, I think I'll pass on this title. At least for now.

Many thanks for doing this review. The DRM limitation however, is definitely not helpful. 🙁

Sounds like a sad yawn title. I'll look out for more user opinions but this appears to be pushing PC games in a bad direction. One I wont follow.

Agreed. It wouldn't take much to convince me to buy a decent Star Wars game with some token starfighter battles (memories of Tie Fighter and X-Wing on PC are strong).. but I am done playing any games using loot crates. They aren't fun for me. I don't think they are fun for anyone. Simple exploitation, taking advantage of well-known human psychology. No different than gambling, but without any government regulation (and no "real" benefit to "winning").

Hi Hilbert! Can you please ad intel 7700k to the cpu scaling performance analysis.

No, but 8700k and Ryzen 7 1800 will be added.

The feeling when NVIDIA releases new drivers the next day. xD

Addendum 16-11-17: Added more graphics cards Added DirectX 11 vs DirectX 12 performance comparison Tested 388.13 versus 388.31 drivers do not optimize GeForce performance, they merely add SLI compatibility. Ergo the results for GeForce graphics cards stand as they are.

Came for the comments wasn't disappointed even the conclusion summed it up nicely good job hilbert Boycott EA / Activision rubbish greedy companies that ruin game franchises / developer studios
