One thing I can't see in the review and that might be just as interesting.... is it actually possible to OC the 3700x to exact 3800x levels and keep all benefits like C&Q and equally raised Turbo? Because in that case it would save you 70 bucks right away.

Close but no sigar. 9900k is still the king of games. (No suprise here) Asrock x570 taichi and Asus x570 formula is on it's way for testing, together with 3900x on Ek water 🙂 Summer of benchmarking 😀

Performance boost will do it but... from what the reviews say most have it disabled and heat becomes a problem as it's pushing 1.46v through it and is basically helping multi core workloads. No one seems to hit the 4.6GHz on 3900X on a single core it more or less tops out at 4.3-4.4GHz.

There's a tiny error.
Ryzen 9 3900X (12c/24t) priced at 399 USD

I'll be called a Intel fanboy... but outside the obvious downside of gaming performance. High voltages, disappointing headroom for overclocking. Hardware Unboxed managed to kill their 3900x. Voltages are higher and temps, strange considering power consumption is lower. Oh well, its the best its been for AMD in a while, and that's good. But these will just bring prices down on Intel's end. And while X570 boards finally have quality like Intel now, I hate the stupid fan and the only mobo I'd consider is the Gigabyte Xtreme, as it has no fan and better cooling, but it is ridiculously expensive.

Waiting to see ComboPI 1.0.0.3AB with unlocked BIOS features...

My 1500X with auto vcore rise up to 1.48V, I fixed it at 1.325 (just to be lazy, I bet I could try lower values) and remains full rock solid with same performance, less power consumption and lower temperatures...

AMD being generous and saving some pussy for 9900K, it gotta be the "gaming king" after all. I am pleased with results. AMD makes the right moves to strike balance between single core speed and overall CPU power. More improvement and better choices for the consumers. With price discounts for older AMD CPUs (2700x, etc...) I can only see market moving towards AMD. Hope to see something refreshing from Intel soon, it badly needs "Sandy Bridge v2".

New bios is Online: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-Crosshair-VIII-Hero-WI-FI/HelpDesk_BIOS/ OC potencial for Ryzen 3k is pretty bad. Explaned by Der8auer https://www.diskusjon.no/uploads/monthly_07_2019/post-42975-0-34252500-1562503150.png

Now waiting for updated overclock reviews.. If it is likle zen and zen+, we need to wait that MB OEMs and AMD fix their damn firmwares.. Which is pretty annoying. Hopefully for xmas most of the issues should be solved, even on 300 and 400 series MBs...

All cool 🙂 The takeaway message is that the group who purchase Intel over AMD is, shall we say, logically, going to get a lot smaller with this release. Be under no false illusions, common sense (no offence to anyone with a 9900) will prevail for the majority, at least. AMD have done very well and this is good news for everyone, in any camp.

Sure, Ryzen has its place and purpose. Its just once again AMD hype and the drip drip of leaks that do nothing to help once the real results come out. Ryzen has value, but I'm sure AMD would rather people buy their CPUs, rather than say well we got Intel to drop their prices and then people buy them now cheaper.

THIS is absurd. Many people buy these CPUs to tweak and overclock. Most reviews didn't even cover overclocking. Okay, the new X570 layout wise look great, except for the stupid fans, but seriously AMD and them didn't have their BIOSs in order at launch ONCE AGAIN?! Do they ever learn? I saw quite a few reviews that said, oh the launch BIOS needs updating, it needs some more work. Sure, you can say its better than before, but come on. This does not help their case once you add everything else disappointing about the product.

Ryzen 3900x 4.2ghz RIP 1.45v. Just ask der8auer and Hardware Unboxed. Be careful overclocking this CPU, new owners.

I have a feeling OC results will be better after the next BIOS update and more people investigating how to reach higher clocks. Frankly, 4.4GHz is plenty fast enough for 12 cores - you people are way too picky. But, I would like to see something higher for 8 cores and less.

Sounds great, but let's see retail prices, because currently the 9900k is 480eur, and unless the 3700x is below 380, I don't see myself getting one.
