they tried to put a new spin on an old gpu so you cant knock them for that but jeez that ying and yang color combo(plastic or not)is not want I would want,one or the other would be fine.

Impressive card: GPU 1100 MHz,VRAM 6100 MHZ.
It has the same performance or better than Gtx 980.
And you dont need the Crossfire bridges.Geez.

Btw I've been wondering about the 62fps on the 290x is that an old score or is it really 19fps slower then 390x in bioshock infinite? 😯

This is overclocked version though. With custom GTX 980's you can easily gain extra ~15-20% speed. Custom GTX 980 will be much quieter and consumes less power.
I think they messed up with the cooling. The settings they use are too aggressive assuming that fan and not the pump is making noise.

Performance may be good, but damn the design is really not my cup of tea, not in the slightest. 🙂

When you look at calculated tdp 307 watts vs 171 watts for the 980, looks less impressive imo.

Just "less impressive"? You simply don't go on AMD. Unfortunately, no matter how you see it, the 980 is clear winner in case you try to compare 'em. 4 extra GB is the only thing the 390 has more, but again, the card can't even run low settings on 4K, so... I don't see any reason.

Yeah, its not like the 390x is an awful performing card or anything, that extra 4gb of vram is useless in single card config except for a handful of modded games.

Id give up my 670 sli for this.
It would match the theme of my build very well.
I had a R9 290 with an AIO on it.
It was really nice.
I dont personally are about power use of the card.
My pc dont run 24/7.

I never understood any of the 300 series normally when a series gets rebranded it gets a cost reduction and a small speed boost this rebrand increased prices on an old gpu by like 150$ for 4gb extra ram?

I actually like the look of it. However out of dozens of video cards I've installed and/or worked on PowerColor is the only brand I've ever had problems with (2/3 GPUs had problems from the factory).

How loud is too loud for idle? I sit right next to my rig.
And its almost inaudible with 8 fans alone with counting the 3 video cards and power supply fan.

390s? Not 390x cards and not furyX cards? What's the point? I guess if you don't have SLI 980tis it mightbe relevant but I struggle to imagine myself with less than this for 2015 gaming - I mean an extra 50% here and there wouldn't go amiss for the witcher 3 4k.
