Its obvious worthless card. Its better than Gtx 660 but is at the same performance as Gtx 760. So where the heck nvidia wanna put this card in the market? Is named Gtx 9xx,is Maxwell so what? And if this low card will come with single slot (not ultra priced with two slots) then low level user will buy, some of them.

While I agree the price is rather high for this product series your argument makes no sense ? A 290 is 300 EURO, a 950 is ~175 EURO.

Yeah I can't find a 290 for under $275 here, in fact I can't even find a used one for under $180. He makes a semi-decent point with a used 280x. You can get those for $150ish. Problem is the 280x is a 250w card compared to a 90w card. Doing quick in head math, in my state having the 950 saves about $10 a year. So after 2 years the 950 is actually the cheaper card. That being said it seems like the 280x is slightly faster (but it's also used so there is a trade off).

And I observed one more thing: This card is hot on iddle, almost 40degrees C in 21degrees C room. In a normal room with say 25-26degrees C this card will go up to 44-45degrees C.hmm The price is a mess, well its a normal thing on nvidia card. 😉

That's actually normal behavior because at idle the fans do not spin anymore, the cards are passive and stay passive up-to roughly 60-65 Degrees C, then the fans will kick in.

Ok got it.Thanks. 🙂

The card is slightly faster than R7-370 which is priced at $150. So for $10 more you get a slightly faster card with 20w lower TDP. I don't really see how this is an Nvidia issue.

In 1998 the Rivia 128 was released with 128bit memory bus, seventeen years later the Geforce 950 is released.... with 128bit bus? Really can't we move away from this?

It's Nvidia that means automatic knee jerk reaction from some users on here. The card is rather impressive performance wise. Plus it is SLI capable with an over clock they rival my 670's over clocked. At $160 that is not bad performance. Put it this way you can now get 690 performance for $320. How is that a bad thing?

Please stop with this your basic understanding of the subject at hand is lacking from this statement.

Really a step backwards for Nvidia with this card. I thought it's 2015 and we will finally begin removing these additional power connectors from the GPUs. I guess I was fooled by GTX750Ti. At least im not feeling bad for not waiting for the GTX950. If anyone wants to buy GTX950 should really just get GTX960. Will see what happens with Pascal now.

960 is not worth the premium over this card the performance difference is around 10%. Also there will be versions of this card with no external power needed acording to Nvidia. Wait to see the sff versions.

That's not how things work. It's like saying 3.0Ghz quad core AMD from 2009 with 4MB cache is as powerful as 3.0Ghz 4mb i3 Haswell from 2014.

This. If anything, the GTX 950 obsoletes the 960 and R9 270x (until they get price drops) Since the 960 has 128bit 2GB as well, there's literally no reason to spent ~$100 more for 5 extra FPS. If you're buying a 2GB card, you might as well buy cheap, because it will need to be replaced in the next couple of years. Also the GTX 950 is a SUBSTANTIAL improvement over the last card in its price range (GTX 750TI). I'd wait for a slight price decrease or sale, but the 950 is pretty decent for budget shoppers.

The GTX 260 was 448-bit. The GTX 8800 was 384-bit Resolution has stayed the same while GPU's advance, bigger memory bus on entry level cards is stupid anyway.

From what I could see that the 950 could be the replacement for the 750 and 750ti.

Turn off AA and I'm sure this GPU would perform fine at 1080p for most games. SLI seems to scale nicely too. But still, this thing is physically too big and too expensive to make sense.

Considering you have 670 ftw, those are actually 680's. And I paid $280 for 2 gtx 670 4GB with back plates that boost too 1143 while staying around 73c on 60% fan. The 960 and 950 suck unless you are on a gtx 660 or lower imho. I will get a gtx 950 to replace my gtx 650ti 1gb in my game stream server if I dont get a gtx 750ti 2gb from a guru3d user.

An overpriced low end card = worthless. You can get a 2x more powerful, freesync supporting 290 with a warranty for this price. Or one from the piles of 280x`s or 7970`s out there for 2/3rds of this price. Hard to imagine people on a budget who ignore the used option.
Belive me they Don't 🙂 I know cuz sometimes i sell my used hardware when upgrading ;-) People tend to move towards Used 280/280X and 290/290X (not referent models) So it's not so bad afterall, always send them scan from shop with warranty (if exists any) Now waiting for Availability and price drops for Fury-X WC  And i will sell my XFX DD 280X -> 1 week and it's gone 😀 Still have warranty.

Top pick? You have to be kidding me.... This is by far way too overpriced for it's level of performance.

funny thing..we have some 950 more expensive than 960....well that's kinda wrong
