I was so hyped for these 500 series that i even forget its coming out today. Big meh, AMD.

Eh.. It's not a BAD card, but since I already have a Gigabyte 1060 6GB card, I'll wait for Vega.

Hate coil wine so much, surprised it is still hanging around on yet another new generation of cards when they can easily build wine free cards. They must get so Many RMA's over this + lost sales, you'd think it was not worth the hassle

Power consumption is taking a big hit with the refresh.

Indeed, they unleash the power. But undervolt will work like a charm,I hope. Btw,Thanks Mr Hilbert for these benches.Useful and right in time. 🙂

380 Euro listed in Bulgaria. 180 minimal pay. Go figure.

That TDP and Power consumption is way too high. Guess they pushed it as far as it would go. RX580 is too power hungry and expensive for me, and RX570 is hitting RX480 performance. Probably gonna get one of those, let's hope we don't get ass raped with prices.

I'd look for a cheap 470 over the 570. Looks like the same card. May get a deal on the 470.

Why would I wait 10 months and buy a 470 if I can get the 570 for the same price and have 480 performance? Also, here in Portugal there are no deals: 480 was +310€ up until March. Old cards are not sold for less, I'm better of just getting a 570 and will be happy.

That is a beast of a cooler, very nice noise and temperatures (aside from coil whine of course). With the increase in power consumption I'm not sure if the performance boost over a 480 is worth it. In the US at least there are sales at or under $200 for an 8GB Rx 480 right now, so as long as they stay in stock I'd rather buy one of those for 1080p gaming.

At sub $200 I'd buy a 480 for sure, it's the same thing as a 570.

Great review as always Hilbert , thank you. I dig the huge cooler , keeping those temperatures in check.

Thanks HH. Another meaningful review as always. I think Vega is still the cards to wait for. Thankfully only a couple more months.

There are rumors that it's been pushed to Q1 2018.

I just read that. I hope it isn't true.

They've been showing the engineering prototype working since when, December? At least January she showed up. Also with good performance numbers in my opinion. It isn't going to beat Nvidia anyway so why delay it? Unless they are having major issues, they need to push that card out asap.

With its current price point and performance, the 580 basically makes the GTX1060 and GTX1070 pointless. Guess the mid range crown goes to AMD, which will be a big win for them. Nvidia still has the high end crown with Vega coming, who knows how long that will last. It might force Nvidia to bring out Volta sooner than they'd like.

How is it pointless? Why is everyone saying things are "obsolete" and "pointless" when they are slightly behind? Techpowerup (i would use guru3d but tpu has that performance summary) benched 22 titles and a FE 1060 is only 5% behind a factory overclocked Nitro+ RX580 (1450Mhz). The 1060 uses a peak of 125w while the Nitro uses 240w. And even if it was more, say 10-15% how does that suddenly make something pointless? What are the price differences between the two? What other features are Nvidia/AMD adding to their cards (my complaint isn't limited to just one company or the other). What games are being offered with the cards? What power usage are both cards? Don't get me wrong - 580 and honestly moreso the 570 are great cards. I just don't get why everything has to be so absolute.
