thanks Hilbert for the time and effort, a worthy update to whom ever is planing on one, me still following Hilberts advice, better start with getting a Wide Quad HD monitor first, guess will stick to my 2 years update cycle plan 🤓

Yeah. I want to buy 2K monitor first, then, hopefully 1080Ti would come to play or some AMD equivalent so I can stable play games at 60 or 120 FPS on 2K.

Page 11 🙂 HH, wondering about something. Why don't you include other aftermarket graphic cards in your graphs? It's evident that aftermarket cards are better in every aspect than vanilla/founders but the difference between for example a Strix and Gaming X card can be more interesting when someone is shopping for a new card.

It's evident that aftermarket cards are better in every aspect than vanilla/founders but the difference between for example a Strix and Gaming X card can be more interesting when someone is shopping for a new card.
We did that throughout all charts. However new drivers are posted nearly on a weekly basis these days. These driver changes can have the effect of a product getting a frame or two faster and sometimes slower. If a slower card all of the sudden is 1~2 FPS ahead all hell breaks loose in these forums and suddenly I have a brand bias. I am however working towards adding a competitive product chart with just 3DMark GPU scores so you guys can compare a bit better.

I was thinking more about things like temps/noise. So every time a new card is tested, it would battle against those that you've already tested.

I don't get the point why you compare custom branded usually overclocked models with reference models. At least add other custom models of the same brand to the performance charts when you review rebranded graphic cards, like in this case it would be Asus STRIX 1080, 980Ti, 980 and so on.

The charts would literally be pages long. If you want to do the comparison go and find the old article where he reviewed the card. Most of the games are the same and it's not difficult to find it.

If you do the 3DMark chart can you include the driver used for each card? Or would that get to cluttered?

Its a bit pointless because the FE & custom cards oc to the same ish clocks due to reference board power limit full on custom boards like the STRIX have a higher power limit which mean ocing a little higher is easier so its a bit hard to include every single card on the market in reviews they would be a 100+ pages long lol.

You don't get it Hilbert -- he's linking to the "The long awaited" "Really intuitive" guide by none other than Nate! We should be honored by this unveiling. It unlocks the true potential of not only our Strix cards, but our love for Nate and humanity as a whole. I've been waiting 28 years for this day. Finally the burden is lifted and my heart is filled intuitive high-frequency euphoria. Long Live Nate! (I have no idea who nate is)

Hilbert u do very good reviews of Asus Products at Guru3d like Guru 3D very much , the Asus forum links I posted are by owners of Asus products they own and use daily and test themselves . Also they are tested and used with Asus software. As for Receiving Asus hardware I have received Asus hardware from Asus Taiwan , to review and keep as an Asus forum member . But post my review of the free hardware on the Asus forum. I'm just trying to add to your Review of Asus hardware by real asus owners. If u do not want me to do that just say so.
