Yes it's optional, the sound is good with the q2 though, no issues watching movies.

Never tried the q2 it just seemed weird someone being mad about the audio when you can use earbuds . I would have snatched one if fb was not mandatory 😛

Yeah I had to get a FB account to use it, which is a pain, I mostly use it for videos.
