For $200 you can get quality closed or open headphones. Is noise canceling worth the additional price?
the Razer Opus delivers sound as the artists intended - pure, crisp and clear, without the background noise of daily life interfering with the experience
Probably the "artists" that record fart sounds in the bathroom 😀 I would believe that they intended to make sound as crappy as possible.

I'm sure they sound great and all but I have found the problem is no longer finding a good quality headphone. It's finding good quality audio. Everything is processed compressed or equalized to an inch of it's audio life. Studios pander to the common denominator which is junk audio. Now get off my lawn.

Obviously razer didn't build these, who did they contract the model from? A version of the Sony xm3 designed for PC and console would be tempting.

For reference to the picture above: https://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=news&action=file&id=36697 Even the microphone grill is identical ! I mean... the only difference in visuals is that Razer has physical buttons on the right earcup, while Sony has a touchpad with multi-functionality. Copy much Razer?
Probably uses 3rd party electronics inside, therefore it is exactly same in logic. Difference may be in drivers/mic/transistors on board ... Same thing happens with keyboards where many are basically same thing in functionality, since they use exactly same logic chipset for key grabs, lighting effects, down to having same set of 3 extra profile keys and same firmware problems.

Sony WH-1000XM look kinda similar: https://static1.nordic.pictures/10521008-thickbox_default/sony-wh-1000xm-black.jpg As do Mee Audio, Edifier, and some others. Even if you found ones that look 100% the same, the drivers and tuning may differ. The questions are: How good ANC is? How good the passive attenuation is? Do they sound half as good ax XM3? Are they comfortable? Even when it's hot? Do they work when it's cold (in contrast to XM3)? There are many doubts, as they are cheaper than Sony, Jabra, and Bose. Etymotic has taught me that good passive noise attenuation can be as good, and sometimes better, than active (when paired with so-so passive), so ANC is not a must. Yet, I haven't found any non-IEMs that work better than XM3 in this degard. Razer would need to either have better sound / attenuation / comfort than XM3 to make me interested. And I wonder how they'll perform against twice expensive Drop + THX Pandas.
