I am not sure if it is better to cry or to laugh.
Though I do not believe these guys have anything to do with being peaceful civilians from Syria, so...

Yeah, no way it's ever going to medicine or food.

the way it reads in english, looks more like it comes from east europe/asian region, than from someone that speaks arabic.

Lucky for me that i have stored any important stuff on an external HDD that only gets plugged in when it needs to be.
That way they can only shut down my gaming for a few hours because i'd just format that shizzle and even then my games to are backed up on large thumb sticks so i could have my whole system up and running within 2 hours easy.
I to doubt this is what they say it is. Pretending that blackmail is ethical because it's for a good cause guys really. lol

Unfortunately, some believe the end justifies the means

Did they get their idea from "The Ring" movie?
You have one week to copy the tape and show it to someone else, or you die

If I would've ever been offered this...
...I would've made a counter-offer which would include certain intimate part of my body (front side) put into a suitable part of the offerer's body (rear)...

its only a matter of time they infect someone with power and no chill, would probably pay even better hackers to find the cryptomalware guys from syria and go meet them personally
it just baffles my mind, lets assume they are not lying, why would people in such situations run the risk of getting into even worse situations? like, wtf
lucidus
I wouldn't be surprised if some idiots fall for that Syria line and infect their PC's deliberately.
Mufflore
Made me chuckle, brazen.
Backups ftw.

I recently saw a news article talking about ISIS "cyber wing". Apparently they have many software/hardware engineers with degree's.
It's apparently our number one threat, not bombs or AK's but cyber terrorists meaning to do us harm.
They are out there no doubt but this could be from anywhere. China, Russia, N.Korea, Syria, Iraq just to name a few.
