no,it's the same.only difference is they're ripping the wealthy and offering cheaper alternatives in 3080/ti while amd is ripping the bottom, the people who trust they're a better value option. 3090 owners know what they're buying.they have 5 cheaper alternatives but they don't care. 300eur for the lowest spec card,a product for the people for whom "50 dollars is a LOT",to quote you.

My RX580 is half dead, but I wouldn't touch this card with a 10 meter pole if I needed one. Better just upgrade my Ryzen 2600 to a 5600G and sit it out.

So... PCI-E 3 4x also? 🙄 Maybe worse than my outdated RX470 o_O

my only gripe with this card is its wired in x4 which is fine on pci-e 4.0 and up but what happens when its at pci-e 3.0 x4 will it be limited if it isn't then i see no issues with the entirety of this card even the price while still on the high end if it maintains msrp and doesn't get scalped its still decent

it seems the CPU people forced the GPU people to do everything they can to push ryzen, I can imagine lots of newbies being told that replacing their skylake/ryzen1000/2000 platform to "truly enjoy" these crippled GPUs would be a good idea, pathetic.

vast majority crying about this gpu wont buy it.
what a revelation you had.

4.0 x4 ------ doesn't matter this GPU will be fine with this bandwidth, anymore just adds more cost to the board and less profits. 64bit bus ------- infinity cache will help mitigate the low bus width 4gb gddr6 memory --------- miners won't want this card due to 4GB and this is fine for low to medium textures on most popular games and its 18Gbps. People need to start seeing this for what it is, its a supped up APU GPU core with more CU's, infinity cache and access to high speed GDDR6 memory rather than standard system RAM. Its not meant to max out every game, also with RSR coming in the driver it could be used at 720p/900p upscaled to 1080p for extra performance. Sure I agree it should of been $149 MSRP.
Looking at the specs on techpowerup, the 18gbps and pixel and texture rate and boost and game clocks look good. Would be a cool card for testing games 🙂 so honestly the card specs looks interesting. Looking forward to seeing some benchmarks.

despite the narrow memory bus, it still has more bandwidth than an rx 560, so all things considered it could be worse, the pcie 4.0 x4 config shouldn't be an issue on newer platforms, since the net bandwidth is basically the same as pcie 2.0x16, it is sufficient, where it will suffer is on older platforms that do not support pcie gen 4 , It should really be priced in the <$150 but given the market situation , we're lucky it isn't >$250 msrp

The most questionable thing is that it will cost 19$ more than my old RX 580X OC limited edition from sapphire in it's time (that were top version of it)...
Top version of a bottom of the barrel, re-release GPU that was out dated in its own technology, let alone its competitor, when released. I will never understand why people complain about pricing and then give examples like the RX 500 series, as if we really want such stagnation that requires "high end" to be low end pricing due to "high end" being low end.

I'll wait for Hilbert, JayzTwoCent, HardWare Unboxed reviews (hopefully on both PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 mobos) to see if there's any bottleneck at 1080P gaming. Curious to see the effects on PCIe 3.0 mobo actually....

I'm actually using a Vega 64 with PCI-E 3.0 x8, witch is equivalent. The performance loss is minimal compared to x16 bus. I guess It will be alright for RX 6500 as long the MB has PCI-E 4.0. Would It run x4 on a PCI-E 3.0 MB?

That's what I'm curious about as well, let's see what would be revealed from Hilbert's and other reviewers' reviews.

hilbert will have to check the difference between 4x on 3.0 and 4x on 4.0 that will determine if this is a flop for me and im guessing everyone else

yes,it has 4 lanes.not 8 or 16. what leanes is determined by the cpu/mobo.

This card shouldn't exist.

Yet it exist. Lame move to save face from AMD. I never ever thought that I will say this, but here I am. Edit: I am wrong.

it's got nothing to do with saving face. higher rdna2 cars, especially navi21,are excellent (though unavailable) this is just poor.

Seems that I am wrong on my statement.

My theory is that AMD want to make something that is so unappealing to miners so people who just want to play video games have at the very least something to purchase from team red.

this can't run video games.
