Right now, 3090 should be 800, 3080 should be 450, 3070 should be 300. Then you will sell them. Other than that, people can gamble for used GPUs or wait. Id like to remind everyone that the crypto boom/gpu shortage is the exception, not the rule.

Prices of the 3080 10gb are still 950-1100$cad (720-830usd) here in Canada so theyre still a little pricey for a generation nearing its end got my gtx1080 for 450usd before the first mining boom I think in 2017 so I have a hard time swallowing that price jump ordered a 6750xt for about 460$usd

Undying:

Everyone should wait for 40 series dont fall for this nvidia marketing to dump 30 series on us
In a way you are right. But for me - I don't need the card for gaming (my trusted 3080 takes care of that) - I need it for a scientific project and Nvidia makes great cards for this line of work with CUDA and AI learning - AMD unfortunately is totally missing in this field, I hope for some competition here too - and I already delayed 9 months the project because of availability and prices and if now I can finally afford to buy a monster of digital awesomeness for almost half of the amount before I am happy. Also, the distributor from where I bought the 3090 Ti told me that they have a stock of 150+ 3090 Ti cards and nobody is buying - they are quite desperate...

I have peeked at my crystal ball and i can tell you, and everyone else, that the 4070 is going to be 399€, the 4080 599€ and the 4090 is going for 899€. The card is going to be released in November in small quantities but plenty of cards next year.:D
If AMD can shift big number on day of release than this may be an issue for NV, same for Intel with CPUs. Will people rather deffo get a (AMD) card rather than wait and see how both stack up against each other and maybe have to wait six months. When i bought my 6900xt, i only chose that over a 3090Ti as the AMD card was in stock for my short trip back to the UK.

I bet they do outside of the EU.

They're still more expensive than they should have been at release. The manufacturers aren't even bleeding yet, they're just cranky and whining.

Its weird how the 3060 through 3070ti are still dramatically overpriced. I see most 3060s at $350 and then it basically just jumps to $500-650.

Where exactly is this drop happening? Not here in east Europe, that's for sure. I've been watching prices almost daily since June and they are barely moving... in both ways.

Good, let's not make the covid prices the new norm

I suspect your crystal ball is malfunctioning. I hope it's still under warranty. You should contact your dealership. If they claim the crystal ball is working perfectly because it's specifically a model that only shows a jolly good future, don't listen to that nonsense and demand your money back.

Maddness:

There's always someone. One of the members here bought a 3090Ti just the other day.
I bought one a month ago. No regrets! I'm good for years now.

At those prices, it's better to wait for the next gen.
In my thinking and at this stage of the outgoing RTX 30-series generation, most people with deep pockets already own a higher-level GPU! With GPU sales prices still not where they ought to be, anyone still hankering for a 3090ti appears to me in having the money to wait for the 40-series to show its true colors and then making a decision. I do not think that the 3090ti will ever go below $950…but for the man on the street like me even that is still unreachable!

Stay strong my friends. This is a sign the next generation is going to be huge.

Stay strong doggs! Oh ya, Jensen just said to the stockholders they are going to hold prices and start selling the 40 series in 2023. They will paper launch the 4090 in Dec. You'll likely get a 4080,90 in about April or May.. But hold the line LOL If you can afford one and need one, buy it now. Prices aren't going down. Your not hurting them either way.. They are a billion dollar company. And before you think they give a sh*t about you.. They don't! They give a sh*t about money.. Period! So if your holding out for some sort of principle because you feel like you got screwed because they sold to miners.. Every company looks at their bottom line.. Period! Think EA give a crap about their games or loot boxes? NO! They are suits at the top that care about profit.. There is no more innovation.. I know is sucks guys, but it is what it is.

Jensen said they aren't dropping prices much anymore. They aren't going to launch the 40 series this year. Paper launch for the 4090 in Dec. They want stock of 30 series to get sold, but he doesn't want to dump the price. He's effectively fixing the market. Jayztwocents has a video on it. I already bought a 3090 ti over a month ago. Funny its still at the same price today. I don't care about the 40 series anymore. See you guys for the 50 series :P

Plenty of people can live with whatever performance they already have. Impulse GPU buying is easy to curb when it's not a deal at all. Many will wait until it's a "necessity", so to speak. Folks cycling cards every 1-2 years may move onto a 3-6 year cycle instead.

I have a feeling AMD will have a little something to say about all this. If AMD's RDNA3 is really competitive Nvidia can't pull any of that off or Nvidia would lose a ton of money.

AMD won't have anything to say about it. Most will still buy Nvidia no matter what.. Just like I did. Lets be honest. Anyone with a half way decent job is going to buy what they want when they want. Everyone else will wait for a pricing miracle.

Best time to short Nvidia now... they screwed gamers with crypto greed, now let them eat it...
